Aura or Swift ???

Post by snamvar » Sun May 01, 2005 9:46 pm

I have been using the Breeze with nasal pillows and like it a lot. The problem is that I am losing my hair at the top of my head
I am wondering as which one to get, Aura or swift.
I am a side sleeper and using Remstar Auto CFlex. I am wondering if swift is good for a side sleeper. I also tend to toss and turn a lot.
Any advise is appreciated.
I don't do mornings !!!

I have lost most of the hair on top of my head, and I own both an aura and a swift. Between the 2, the swift is more comfortable on my q-ball. The Aura head gear has rubber like straps that form a T just above/on your forehead, the side of the material that contacts your skin has hundreds of round flat rubber nubs. Unlike others here I'm able to comfortably strap the standard Aura headgear on and get a good tight fit. However when waking in the morning I have a serious indented pattern in my scalp. This lasted for quite a long time before fading.

I also find the swift headgear comfortable and I'm able to sleep on either side or my back. You may have to replace your head pillows and rethink how you sleep. I now use some memory foam type pillows, one is a combination memory foam with down. They are very firm and are helpful in positioning my head. No matter which position I sleep in I am able to do so with the swift and keep a good seal. I think with each mask there is an adjustment/learning period where you eventually get used to it and figure out how to sleep with it on. I now apparently shift from back to side to other side to back without realizing it in my sleep. When I wake I am usually in a different position than where I started and don't remember getting there. Mask seal all in tact and breathing fine. I also noticed this morning I don't seem to feel the pressure any more. I had to check the readout on the machine to verify I indeed was getting 9.5 cm h2o.
9 cm h2o

Im a side sleeper and the swift works great for me, I do alternate it with the Activa. I really think the secret is the pillow, I also have gone to using a visco memory foam and no matter what equipment I wear, it sinks in and I don't feel it at all. These are great pillows, great beds for that matter, I own one as well.
