Nare Pain Solutions?

Post by Newsgrouper » Tue Apr 26, 2005 9:55 am

I have been practicing with an Infinity Nasal Mask in preparation to begin my CPAP treatment. Although I am only using this interface for very short periods I am experiencing significant discomfort to my nares. What can I do to "toughen them up" or dull the pain? Will lubricants help?

Nitro,

Nares...nose...more specific the entrance and inside of the nostril.

Original Poster,

I am not familiar with that interface...is it a mask or two prongs that go in or rest on your nostrils? If it is a prong or nasal pillow system some Nasal AYR Saline Gel works good to maintain moisture and provide some lube. Still takes a few day to toughen or more so desensitize to these systems. You may even develop some redness or a tiny sore. I like the the ResMed Nasal Pillows.
