Thanks Ozij.
I am positive the pillows were not dislodged. When I was using the medium pillows, I could here a small hiss that I thought was coming from the vent. It turns out that it was from the pillows. When I went to the large pillows that his was gone.
What I am wondering is what difference does it make that my leak rate is bumpy like that if I can achieve a low AHI number? Before I was taping the AHI number was very good. Isn't that what I should be shooting for? The only difficulty I had was my mouth was a bit dry sometimes.

I don't believe any machine can give you any therapy, or record AHI's when the pressurized air is shooting out of you mouth, instead of pushing away whatever obstruction it has to push on the way to your lungs.

I'm not sure about the "no therapy".....but according to the report there would have been a lot of time in those clusters of apneas that (theoretically) you were not getting much oxygen.....but on the other hand you WERE snoring (and maybe still breathing).Flying_Norseman wrote:I don't see how it can be giving me no therapy. Yep! (aren't you glad you asked?)Flying_Norseman wrote:Ok, Den. You put it in perspective.
I will wait until Monday for my FF mask and go from there. Any tips on that?
If it's a UMFF or Quattro, (and properly sized) I like the top straps loose and whatever tension is needed to be on the bottom straps. I like the forehead piece (on both masks) to be in the most vertical position and literally not touching my forehead (that loose).
Good luck.

[quote="Flying_Norseman"]Jen,
I did address mouth leaks I am positive there were no mouth leaks the pas few nights because I taped very well. I am also confident that the mask didn't leak last night after switching to the next size up nasal pillows. That is what is so confusing.

Ozij,
So are you saying that no matter what the other numbers say, if the leak line is not pretty much straight you can through out the other data? Let me rephrase it, I am as sure as I can be that I didn't leak. I know for a fact that I didn't leak out of my mouth. The mask is another issue. I switched nasal pillows and it didn't appear to be leaking. I switched to a different mask and that didn't appear to be leaking. The software says it was, but I have no way of knowing what to do to proceed. In the past, any kind of leaks with both masks would wake me up. That didn't happen in this case.

Yes it does. Thanks for taking the time to explain it. I was Titrated at 10cm during my sleep study. I guess it is very possible that the snores are causing me to lose the seal on my mask and the machine is pumping more air to compensate.
Could the machine be chasing snores and raising the pressure too much causing a lot of my problems? I only set APAP from 8 to 16 to try and find an optimal pressure so I could set it at that pressure in CPAP mode.
