If you have a print photo, you might scan it. But I would scan it to a JPEG type of file (less memory). I'm no expert on this stuff, believe me. And it may help if the image of you is relatively small in the print (not a full head shot which takes up most of the picture). Because you may need to crop it down to the 80x80 pixels limit for the avatar. Or if you have problems with that but can scan it, you could email the scanned to Bullwinkle who has volunteered to help make it into something at the right size for the avatar. (As rock and roll said). Don't know if this helps.Sleeping With The Enemy wrote:I have a HP scanner. Rested Gal,
Wow! Is that you??
Terrific!
So amazing to see you, after reading your posts for all these months.
I was sent a photo of you as you looked way back when, of you proudly riding a horse, also a terrific photo. So it's exciting to you now, and just as terrific. Wish I had your guts! (and your terrific hair!....mine's gotten weird on me, like it's decided to turn on me). Thanks for sharing your picture!

This was posted by Janelle in the curiousity thread:
Janelle wrote:For Avatars you take take any photo file on your computer, open it in whatever photo editing program you have, go to resize and choose pixels versus inches, etc. Size must be no higher or wider than 80 pixels. Reduce the resolution if you can to 72 dpi. Save the file as xavatar.jpg/gif and then go to Profile at the top of the page on Cpaptalk.com. This will open up your Profile. Scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page and there will be a window where you can browse your C drive to find the file (you DO remember where you saved it, right?), click on that and it will show the file path in the window. Scroll further down and click Submit and that's all there is to it.

If I've done this right, you should now see a picture of me and a tiny little bit of my daughter's face...
If I've done it wrong, or if you need to update the prescription on your glasses, you should see little or nothing.
Liam, picture that...

Something about this is spooking me. Did the Lone Ranger reveal himself to anyone but Tanto? Did Batman wears tights and no mask around anyone but Robin? Did Clark Kent let his cub reporter see him without his glasses? Wasn't Michael Jackson.... Say, I'm starting to see a pattern here....
