I love success stories!
Way to go, Babette! All you needed was a little help from your friends, your cpaptalk friends, that is.

Oh Tilly, I don't know! What do you suggest? GASP is loving her Aflex. I suppose I should opt for the top of the line, huh?tillymarigold wrote:C-Flex or A-Flex? Something to consider ...

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Senator: You're saying that you believe that all patients have the right to their own data?
Patient: Yes Sir!
Senator: TERRORISTS! Clap them in irons! Black list them! Send them to Guantanamo Bay!

Oooh, double plus good, Babette!
And I am reminded again how very lucky I was to be able to purchase my apap out of pocket and avoid the stress so very many here have to put up with and the seemingly endless hoops they have to jump through to get the treatment their lives depend on. I was very lucky.
Congrats!

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
Good job girl! Go for the machine you want. I went for a M Series Auto-Bi Level, I call it my "Cadillac", not 'cause it's big–'cause it has the most amount of features. I like the two separate pressures for IPAP and EPAP (inhale and exhale).
Yeah. I had a pretty stressful situation too. And I didn't even have a DME. It was my doctor that wasn't being as cooperative as she should've been. Ah well...going on 6 months and still fully compliant.
Next week I'm going to drum corps camp (don't call it "band camp" or I'll mow ya down with a FFFF pedal tone) and I'm gonna have my "Cadillac" by my side. Funny, they call the Contrabass players "Cadillacs" too.
Congrats and may you have many peaceful nights.

OH, and the guy that PM'd me about drum corps...I accidentally lost your message. Hit me again if ya like.

Hey Babette,
So glad you had success in your endeavor! I hope you get those mean old DME guys in a whole heap o' trouble!
Congrats on getting the auto!
Tonight will be the 3rd night on mine and it has made a WORLD of difference in my ability to comply in just that short time!

Hey Babs (hope you don't mind but I always loved the name "Babs)
Many congrats on getting your machine,, this sounds so much like my story. I have had incredible success since getting my Bi-PAP. I just don't understand why the DME are such butt heads about equipment. My doc scripted a Bi-PAP, wants reports,, but the DME gives me a "Plus" machine. I ended up buying my Bi-PAP Auto "tank" out of pocket,, but not regretting it at all. Two days and humidifier still has H2O in it.
Tom
PS as far as I am concerned,, the detailed reports are for my eyes only,, doc and DME will have to handle it on their side.

But....."This one time...at drum corp camp, just doesn't have the same ring to it" LOL
It's possible I may be the only other one on this forum who knows what a fffff pedal tone is.
So you play the contrabass? Awesome. I suppose that's the correct name for it, eh? I played one in HS marching band for 3 years. I just always called it a tuba-over the shoulder model

Sorry, I just can't get it up for a Tuba Player.
Now an ACCORDION, that's another story...
LOL,

Boy! what a great story. It is really a shame that we have to go through this sort of thing. It makes you want to pour a little black stuff down the pipe, add a patch and ball, prime the pan and pullllll.
I want to disagree with tangents about the Docs being part of the problem I think the ones that limit knowledge are simply uneducated as to what an asset an informed patient will be.

Perhaps we should take likenesses of ourselves armed to the teeth and post those off to the medical community members who are less than HONORABLE or INTELLIGENT in their congress with us?
Bloody Pirates, the lot of them...
No no, I don't mean all of them. I'm just having a joke. I am currently quite enamored of my sleep doctor, her staff, and the sleep clinic. I only have a bone to pick with one DME right now.
