Doing the dropbox thing can be a little time consuming.

This is the main reason that SleepHQ is a useful tool for folks to use. Yeah, there are things that are annoying in the way SleepHQ presents some of the more obscure data, like the mask pressure data. But being able to zoom in and scroll through the flow rate data, which is accurately displayed, can be a real boon when you're trying to help someone and you see something that you would like a chance to take a closer look at.

I feel like it is going to cause problems in the long run but Pugsy has spoken and I respect her decision. I reserve the right to say "I told you so" later on when it does start to cause problems.

It won't be the software itself that causes a problem....it will be the snarky snide crap from people arguing about it that will be the disruptive influence and if they didn't argue about the software and start pissing contests it would just be something else.
People just seem to like to fight and argue....annoys the hell out of me.

I just want to scream "IT"S NOT WORTH FIGHTING OVER" but it wouldn't stop them. They just want to stir up trouble about anything and everything just to be stirring up shit.

I dislike the political fighting. The other stuff doesn't usually bother me. I just move on or if I'm feeling feisty join in the fray. Political arguments in 2022 are far too toxic and serious.

That was before Internet forums were invented to automate that entire process.

Relative to the comments of Rpbysue1, Babydino, and Pugsy:
I initiated this topic to have an open discussion on and promote a mutual understanding of the differences that may or may not exist in the presentation of source data between OSCAR and SleepHQ.

It was never intended to degrade into a discussion of developers motivations, initiate a "pissing contest", or a political debate.

I personally do not use SleepHQ, but it seems that a reasonable number of forum participants do, and apparently like it as they find it satisfactory for their purposes. Other forum participants may prefer OSCAR, as do I, but most probably because I was comfortable with Encore, Sleepyhead, and now OSCAR.

Within other threads on this board there have been OT mention that SleepHQ may not give a accurate depiction of some raw data. If that is accurate, as apparently it now seems to be, forum participants should be aware of those differences and evaluate how those differences may impact their ability to interpret the raw data. That was my only motivation in initiating this topic: awareness.

Doing Sleepyhq lets me just click on a link and pretty much zoom in on what I want....much less work for everyone. 90% of the time that's all I really need or want to do anyway.

I won't/can't disallow sleepyhq for various reasons. It's use has its time and place for some people and even if it was just one person I can't deny help just because uncle nicko wants to make a buck and someone else wants to spend their bucks.
Not my place in life to tell anyone what to do with their money.

Furthermore, it can be terribly intimidating and off putting to the newby in need in of help if we told them "no, you can't upload that info". Far better for them to find out through browsing the forum and why we need more precise info.

I agree.
And we can - and do - call out the problems when we see them - which helps those who use sleepHQ understand why sometimes OSCAR is better. Furthermore, when the need for dropbox arises we do tell people OSCAR will give the necessary data. And help in uploading is offered freely and willingly.
