I have a surplus of supplies that I was hoping to offer at a discounted price. I don't want to break any rules. Please advise.
I'm not sure whose "rules" you are are referring to.
That said, if you obtained these supplies by way of an insurance subsidy, you may have some personal ethics issues.
(for example, if your DME sent supplies and billed Medicare for most of the cost, and you only paid a small portion, you should probably feel at ease selling these supplies at
your cost).
Really ?! After the way insurance companies screw everyone your going to take their side ?

Really doubt anyone on here except you gives a flying fig about insurance companies. If the OP post deals, I'm sure there is not one person here, except you, going waaaah poor insurance company. I know I sure as sugar don't care.
dataq1 had no business suggesting that if one gets supplies subsidized, they should be selling them at cost or below, otherwise they may have personal ethical issues.
Last year I paid $3154 to my insurance company. I had $1556 in insurable eligible medical costs and supplies, of those costs they paid $1244 and I paid $332.
My insurance has profited dramatically from me, technically they haven't paid for a damn thing. And morons like dataq1 is running around telling people they have ethical issues because their supplies were subsidized. He needs to re-evaluate his ethical issues.

As for forum "rules" about selling stuff here on this forum.
Some forums simply don't allow the selling of any cpap related items...period. Selling of anything is prohibited.
I asked Carolyn about selling stuff here and her reply was essentially...
if it is a forum member and cpap user selling their stuff for whatever reason then they don't have a problem with it.
Now if it is a DME or someone who just comes here to use the forum as their own personal craigslist ad....different story.
That's not allowed. It happens sometimes but you guys never see it because it is so obvious that a new account post is someone just "in the business of selling cpap stuff to make money" that I just never allow it to be seen.
When I see a list of machines (usually quite old and way above fair market value) offered...or a big list of masks....it's pretty obvious that someone just wants to make money and use the forum as their own personal craigslist ad. You guys won't ever see those.
Now we all know that there are a few forum members who buy machines and resell them. Those members fulfill a need here and Carolyn has always left those members alone....technically they are cpap users/forum members who buy a product themselves and then they resell it. It's a long way from someone who makes their livelihood from selling cpap stuff.
Fine line???? maybe but a line nonetheless and it's allowed.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
