Anyone Sleep Through Power Outage
Re: Anyone Sleep Through Power Outage
We have solar panels with backup batteries now, but before that I remember waking up with the power off a few times. Slept for at least a couple of hours with the power out, and while it was a little more work to breathe, it was fine. No problem.

Re: Anyone Sleep Through Power Outage
I don't think it was that. It was a wooden type of lean to shed on their side yard, up against the house. If the generator was too hot in a small wooden structure, I can see how it would happen. Possibly there was some combustible material there, too. Maybe the gas can.
We are almost the only ones in our neighborhood without a generator. The noise and fumes when we have planned outages is significant. Everyone has them running in their backyards which is the bedroom side of our house, and these outages happen in the hottest weather, so we sleep with windows open. It really bothers my asthma, and sometimes we have smoke in the air, too. We try to get by with an ice chest, solar powered lanterns, and my little battery powered generator. It's misery.
