Something as simple as a spill from warm milk or sweet coffee can dry to make GLUE.
Sugar syrup and casein (from milk) can each make very strong adhesives.
Unintentionally gluing your equipment together can be embarrassing.
Too embarrassing to come back and admit. 8)
The other issue is gasket positioning.
"Don't take it apart if you cannot put it back together" is a good rule.
It is easier to pull off than to put back.
Better to save that unless badly needed.
I suspect unfriendly design work--just to promote replacements.

Fair go Larry! She only joined yesterday. Not everybody is glued to their device 24/7.
Just registered to respond. My tank was stuck and this solved it. I was careless when I filled the tank and something got on them. Thanks
