Where to buy?
I need a new machine after 8 years, my DME provider only does rent to own which I would rather not do. After a while on the phone with my insurance, turns out I can buy anywhere and get reimbursed 80% of the approved price for where the machine is sold.
So I started reading reviews on online cpap suppliers, and the main one that came up had great reviews except regarding warranty service. Resmed wont deal directly with an end user, and one reviewer got a dead end when requesting warranty service from this online retailer. I emailed the online retailer to ask about how warranty is handled (do they cross ship, etc) and the first reply was to ask my machine serial number. I explained that I am (was) a prospect and just wanted to know how the6y handle this. No reply.
So whats the deal, and who online has the best warranty support?

How about the forum sponsor, Cpap.com? They''re very good with info (you can call them).

You might want to consider dropping your present DME and going with a new one. Then your insurance will cover whatever you need.

Re: Where to buy?
Do you have a backup machine? If not, it can be a big advantage to have a DME in town who can provide a loaner if your machine fails. Even once my machine is out of warranty, my local DME is committed to providing a loaner until my machine can be repaired or replaced.MildApniac wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 3:30 pmSo I started reading reviews on online cpap suppliers, and the main one that came up had great reviews except regarding warranty service.

CPAP.com will accept returns on merchandise sold that have manufacturing defects. If the product you purchased has defective materials and/or workmanship, please contact us first for trouble shooting and then, if required, an RMA# will be issued to you via email. CPAP.com will deal with the manufacturer on your behalf to have the item fixed or replaced with the exact or like item under the warranty policy. Please note that any associated shipping cost to return merchandise to CPAP.com is not covered in any warranty situation.

Ok, so I buy my next machine from your place, and 18 months from now I go to turn it on and it doesnt.
Is that considered a warranty item?

Call Cpap.com and ask them - this is a forum, not a business.

this is CPAPTALK, NOT cpap.com.MildApniac wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 1:31 pmhow rude and wrong. cpap.com is the sponsor and they have answered my question and I had a followup. what kind of person are you "julie"?
you aren't talking to any cpap.com employees here.

Re: Where to buy?
Understood. Although granny did look like she was talking from cpap.com. Since it was mentioned they are the sponsor. Thanks for clarifying.
Really was asking other forum members for their warranty experiences with online DME sellers and the names of some places they have liked buying from. Pretty "forumey" stuff...
So, any warranty experiences?

Re: Where to buy?
Thanks for sharing that experience. I read their reviews on yelp and other places and there's too many red flags which are consistent with one another to risk it. Some real horror stories and they span years and up until last month... I could overlook mistakes or defects in equipment but how these customers were handled is outrageous. Sorry I was hoping to find better, maybe 1 or 2 outlier poor reviews would be fine, but I found way too much for my comfort. The search continues or its my local DME again.
