I got in through a back door....and then after a few minutes got that same message so trying another backdoor but it probably won't last long.

Palerider got stuck with it last night. Zonker has been stuck with it as long as I have...
Up until now none of my back door tricks would work.
Clearing cookies doesn't seem to do squat.

I have the same error on FireFox, Chrome and MS Edge on this laptop and Safari on my iPad Pro.

The back door that sometimes work....another link from some place else besides your bookmarked section...at least for me anyway.
So you might try doing a google search for cpaptalk.com and try to enter through that link found in the search...when you can't access any other way.

It is random and sporadic and intermittent...so if you read this ...in a few minutes or tomorrow you might not be able to.

In the meantime I am hanging out over on Jason's forum...freecpapadvice.com.

I was able to approve some new account posts just now...but I don't know how long this link will last.

Zonker can PM, but he can’t access the site. He asked me to let people know that’s why he isn’t posting.

I can get in on my iPad but not on my laptop. I can’t write so easily on the iPad, so I’ll be posting less until the problem is fixed.

Have you tried the voice control or text to speech option with your iPad? That way, you don't have to type anything and you can just speak and the iPad will type for you!

My posts are sometimes tongue & cheek w/some snarky sarcasm mixed in.
I leave it up to you to figure it out!

I use Chrome and I have not experienced this problem. One quick test for those who have would be to use the "incognito" mode of your browser - that will not only ignore any cookies (BTW, you don't have to delete ALL of your cookies, just the ones for the site) but will also not use any cached data, conflicting 3rd-party cookies, and not load any offending plugins. Different browsers have different capabilities, so see the instructions for yours. But the problem may be with the site's server configuration and it may have to be fixed by the admins.

Yep Incognito mode on chrome is the only way I can access the site on my iPhone. But this afternoon I can get in using safari on my MacBook air. But not safari on my iPhone. Go figure.....

What an intro for a new guy (me).
I can navigate all over the site without signing in, but the moment I try to sign in...
I snuck in by asking to look at someone's profile (thanks, Pugsy :) ) the site needed me to
sign in, so I did and it accepted it. Then (so far) navigation is 'normal'.
Enough for now, I don't even know if this will make it on the board or if I will get a
BSOD (for me it's Black Screen Of Death)(Dark theme in Firefox, running LinuxMint 20.1)
I'll be lurking... :)

Said link is simply cpaptalk.com. can't explain why it works, discovery is a total accident.
No http or https. Original in email (which provided the hyperlink).
The problem still happens ... for me sending a pm will trigger it.
Going back to the simple url fixes it for a time...

Anyone reading this and having intermittent issues

This link has worked for 2 people that I know of.

http://cpaptalk.com/CPAP-Sleep-Apnea-Forum.html

I suggest saving it just in case it is needed in the future...it's something to try...no guarantees.
It worked for me and Zonker.

Palerider is having intermittent issues...I just now sent it to him.

and to ALL: even if you aren't having trouble right now, please save this link. this whole week has been miserable as i watched my beloved forum wasting away in front of me.

believe me, nothing worked. no incognito, no clearing of cookies, no using a different browser, no using a different machine, no googling and using a different link from there. i was only able to come into private mail and log in there. however, as SOON as i tried to go from there to the public forum, i was kicked out with the "too many redirects" error.

i hope palerider gets here. he understands this stuff and thinks it's a profound screwup on the server level.

maybe he can explain it so we can understand it.

Just heard from palerider.
It works initially but then when he tries to do something it breaks again.
This happened to me initially but I just kept going back to the original link and it finally stuck and I have been on all day.
Only problem I have had was a couple of weird "security error" things.

http://cpaptalk.com/

Might try this as well.

It is what khauser sent to me that allowed me to get back here and stay here after only one kick off.

Doing a little test...
Just a bit ago I sent 2 PMs...after each time I got the redirect message after I clicked on submit.
I keep a second working page to the forum open so here I am..I want to see what happens after I click on submit for a reply because obviously sending a PM and attempting to go back to main page breaks it.

What I'm finding is helping me is keeping an intopic link, for example this one:

http://cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t181226/S ... -site.html

I just copy it to my desktop.

It seems, I've had more success going to a topic, then going directly to the CPAPTalk home page in my browser.

It doesn't make sense, that clicking a link, typing the same thing, or clicking from one's history file would make any difference. The end result is an address in the browser URL field.

But the success rate, when getting here via a local link verses the more traditional ways I've used in the past just seems to one-side to ignore.

None of my tricks work on my iPad using Safari. Can't open it at all.
Chrome and MS edge...no luck. I get to the log in page but once I log in it goes to hell...and this is with and without removing cookies.

Since this is a server issue every trick is probably going to be hit and miss.
So far this morning...no problems (knock on wood) but I also just kept this window open all night on my computer.
I was afraid to close it until I just had to.

It's not perfect though...I did get the redirect error last night a few time but my new saved bookmarked link was able to bring me right back.

Last I heard palerider was having a lot of hit and miss success with the success not lasting very long.

All I know to say is everyone try all the ideas here and see if you stumble on something that works for you.
Remember just because it works for the person who had success that it may not be successful for you. I know I tried pretty much all the ideas posted here before I finally got lucky and even then it's not been perfect. It's hit or miss for me as well but more success than misses at this point anyway.
