OSCAR data for new sleep Dr appt

Post by Chikorita » Mon Oct 19, 2020 6:08 pm

Hi Everyone,

I've switched from Sleepyhead to OSCAR and have an appt with a new sleep dr this week.
It's via telehealth/zoom and I need to send them data.
I've left a message with the sleep technician but they may take ages to get back to me.
Can you tell me what data is usually required please?

Thanks heaps in advance

I'm going to have a guess that this is some of what they will require:

It wouldn't let me put three images in the previous post so this one as well.

Do you think I need daily reports too?

Please post Oscar reports as indicated in the instructions - what you posted is very different. There are graphs we need and those we don't (including the calendar), so post and we'll help to tweak anything that might need it. Also, if you take any meds? How you feel generally when you're up, and whether you sleep through or wake up at different times.

Where are the instructions about what to post please? I've been searching and can't find the info.

The OP is not asking us to interpret her data. She is asking us to speculate on what data she is to provide her new sleep Dr.

I don't think many here can answer what data to provide.

For ResMed's your Dr, may be cable to just connect to ResMed's system and retrieve your data from them. But, few here can know how we are to advise you on what to provide and how to provide it.

In non-covid, face to face meetings, bringing in the SD Card was often done.

Thank you, I think that is my answer.
I am in Australia but my machine came from overseas and Doctors are locked out of accessing my date here so I have used Sleepyhead and now OSCAR to access data.

I think I would still like the list of things that are usually used off OSCAR to interpret results. I've looked but idk where that list is.

OK, pure speculation on my part, but I doubt that he will need the detail data provided by the daily tab. Sleep Drs just don't do that kind of detailed analysis and tweaking.

I'm guessing the information on the Statistics page showing the last year either month by month or Last Week / 30 Days / 6 months / Year would be what they would need.

Ahh...the plot thickens.
Start with the statistics (your very first image) but include all the old statistics and don't cut it off on the right side at last week like you did on your example. So go to the far right and get the old stuff in there as well.

Most of the time doctors only care about the big picture and don't care about details unless there is a problem.

If they need anything else they will tell you but the big statistics page they can easily see and read and understand. The other overview graphs they may not understand because they won't know the software and what they mean.
You give them the statistics themselves they will understand.

I switched to a new machine and new SD card last week and old SD card wont let me access data which is why I cut off at last week. IDK what the problem with the sd card was but OSCAR couldn't access it.

Try creating a new profile for the old SD card and then download the old card to it.
You may have to send 2 reports but they can figure that out.

Which version of OSCAR are you using?

Not necessarily in this situation. It's a bit complicated.
If she is using the first version of OSCAR it won't import data to a profile when there is already data for a date in that profile.
It's a little buggy in that regard and fixed in the latest version. It won't combine data data very well.

It wouldn't be impossible for there to be data in the profile from the old SD card that happens to be sort of overlapping the new card data and OSCAR just won't import because of the data on the 2 cards that tries to occupy same date space.
Long shot I know but something to try to get the old data from the different machine to show that she has been using the machine a lot longer than what she shows with the new machine.

In this situation all she wants to show is that she has been using cpap longer than the data from the new machine shows.
While it would be nice if it would combine...it isn't critical. Having 2 profiles that combined show longer cpap use should be enough to satisfy a new doctor which is all we really just have to accomplish here.

Otherwise all sorts of work involved trying to get to SD card files to be combined in on profile and it's unnecessary work if we can simply get that old SD card data in another profile.

Now if my idea doesn't work...then obviously we most likely will have to dig deeper.
