Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
Hello,
I have lung cancer (and sleep apnea) and I have heard that deluded baking soda in water in direct contact with the cancer location can cure cancer. This therapy is not offered here in the US but in places like Italy. I would like to use the vapor of this baking soda in my CPAP unit to get to my lungs. How much should I use to do this? Thank you!

Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
If yes how much should I add to the humidifier? Thanks!
Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
Emphatically NO.....never, never ever add something like that to the humidifier. Never.

I am sorry about your cancer;
but I am sorrier still that you are being deceived by charlatans.
Obviously, they know NOTHING, but probably have a plan to remove your money.
Usually, the chief reason why a treatment is not available in the US is because it is complete HOGWASH.

Listen to the frog!
Do you seriously not think that all the oncologists in the US and around the world would not prescribe (of all things) baking soda if they thought for one second that it could cure anything?
Do you not realize they also have families that get cancer and still they can't always help them but would love to, if only they could, using such a well hidden secret like... baking soda?
And you must know that scientists all over the world are in contact with each other all the time, and something so simple (and silly) would have long, long ago been tested (and found to be useless).
I hope you don't normally spend your money, let alone your brain, on things like that... really.
PS - that word is 'diluted'... fwiw.

Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
The cold hard fact of life is even if this baking soda thing was a legit treatment....we can't use cpap humidity to transmit it to the lungs.
The water vapors simply won't support it. Water vapors containing moisture simply can't carry anything else. Heck...they have enough trouble carrying moisture sometimes and that's why we get rain out.
It would need to be introduced in more measurable and accurate means similar to maybe what people do for asthma or something like that.

Wellp, I've heard some crackpot ideas, but this is a doozie.DaphneSam wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 1:08 amHello,

NO, sodium bicarbonate is a mineral, and will be left behind just like the other minerals are left behind in the water.
If you're determined to do something like this to yourself, (scientific proof?) then you'll need a *nebulizer* of some sort, perhaps an ultrasonic vaporizer, and stick your face in that.

Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
I'm so sorry and hope your oncology team is providing excellent treatment.
That's not at all true, although some of the news stories made it sound like this. The news stories were based off a small study targeting intratumoral lactic-acidosis with transarterial chemoembolization. The small study did not show a cure, although in some patients the mortality was thought to be delayed by a few weeks or months. ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5954837/ ) Note, it would take a skilled oncologist to administer the treatment. Breathing any amount of baking soda would not at all be effective.
There are thousands of pages on the internet touting baking soda as a cure. None of the authors of these pages are oncologists.
Please depend on your oncology teams for proper treatment. All the best to you.
Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
This is certainly not approved in the US! I'm not aware that it's approved anywhere else in the world.
I cannot comment of the efficacy of this treatment other than to state that there are quack remedies all over internet. They are the heirs to the traveling snake oil salesmen of the 19th century!
Also, it's not recommended to put anything other than water (preferable distilled water) in the humidification chamber.

Apparently, he does not follow his own advice--
because then he would not be able to continue to vex us.

Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
Thank you everyone for your helpful answers. I was curious and wanted to know if people were doing this kind of thing and if it worked.
Re: Can Baking Soda be used in humidifier to administer it to the lungs?
What about a super distilled ozenated water of some kind? Could that help? Thanks!
