Once the appliances and trim go in....it will really start looking like a home.
Finishings transform things 1000%.
and what you go on to say, well, it's one of those main differences between the sexes. we men just.don't.see.it.

as jerry seinfeld once said, we men hate change. it's why we don't like to clothes shop. we'll wear a pair of underwear until it's basically just a waistband with bits of fabric clinging to it!

I want you to know this is the first time I've used emojis on this forum. Who knows what'll happen if you get even funnier....

Hey Zonker,
You're house is looking greatttt. I'm envious. I'd love to live in an area like that. (I grew up in outback Aust., and now live in the city. Ugh.).
Bet you can't wait to move in.
Wishing you continued good progress. 😊👍

thanks! we aren't quite as isolate as outback. it's not rough, just "rough-ish"!

the progress seems to come in spurts. all the tradespeople are busy as beavers, of course, due to the pandemic. so lot's of pent up customer needs. and i understand that. just wish MY place was a priority!

not much has happened since i posted the picks. doors are in, but need to be re-installed as they put them in the wrong places. and drywall is scheduled to happen "soon", with painting after that.

counter tops are on order. cabinets too.

my daughter seems to think we will be in second week of october. as per usual, i remain dubious.

we are now in our third vrbo. it's a charming wee house a ten minute drive from our future home. so that's more convenient.

have no idea yet when we move to that future home.

and i really don't care at this point. i'm so wrought up(as we used to say in indiana) over the entire pandemic, the long time the rebuild is taking and politics, that it's making me a wreck.

i'm taking some time away from the forum because i'm just behind the screen yelling. and i don't want that to slip out and be any of you good people i'm yelling at.

not sure when i'll be back. not certain i can stay off until the election is over. i have NO doubt we are going to hear more from members new and of yore. and i really don't want to read any of that sh@t right now.

take care of yourselves!

Of course I understand and feel the exact same way. I'm sure most of us here and in the outside world feel that way too. That said, you have no right to just up and leave! I really enjoy your funny comments and pop corn eating memes. Also, who will welcome new people to the zoo?! Bet you never even thought about that! You do realize you're being very selfish by depriving us of a good laugh, doncha??

All joking aside, we all need a place to rant! I'm quite sure that not one of us thought we would be living through what we have been living through this year. I think this is a great place to rant as long as the rant doesn't include anyone here. In fact, maybe we could start a OT thread called, "My Rant", or perhaps "Rant, Rant, Rant", and we could rant away. May as well start one now instead of waiting until after the election.

Anyway, I've said enough nice things about you. !Come back! We need light and funny and some ranting right now :!:

Take a vacation from the forum if you feel the need. Lord knows I have done it myself....First time it lasted a year...second time it was 6 months and there have been a few other short vacations as well.
Some have been because of what all went on here and no one did a damn thing about it and some were what all went on inside my head and I needed a break.

We are your family though...we care about you and want you to be well both physically and mentally. This whole pandemic crap and election crap...it's a huge stressor for sure. It's taken it's toll on me I know. Not sleeping well and I get grouchy and bitchy and have almost zero patience. Plus the added stress about my mom.

You have the added stress of the move and the delay in your new house and all that piled on.
Take care of yourself first. If you aren't healthy you can't help yourself or anyone else.

We love you....you know that. We will be here waiting for you to heal and regroup and be back to your old self.
