Great job on the chart! You should definitely try out pr’s settings for a week, changing nothing else, to see how that goes. Be sure you have the CA report function turned on.

Later on, you might try increasing the EPR to 3. The reason I say that is because you have a moderate amount of flow limitation and the EPR might help. It’s conceivable that this would give you sounder sleep.
Thanks regarding the EPR adjustment. I have raised the min pressure to 9, and after a week I'll see if it smooths things out, then I'll bump up the EPR.

Pleading ignorance here....CA report function?

Thanks Zonker. It did take me quite a few months to get to a point where I realized I needed to suck it up and get used to wearing the mask. For awhile I was just doing enough to stay compliant. I wish I wasn't a mouth breather...I'd love to give a nasal mask a go. Seems less obtrusive to me. I've been using Aller-Flo (Flonase) lately to keep my nasal passages drier, and I'm really liking the difference. I can't imagine suffering through 3 years of working out all the therapy issues. Glad you worked it out.
thanks. i had to work through a lot, but i made it.

but what i wanted to say (and i hate being THAT GUY) but are you completely sure on that mouth breather thing? i thought the same way, going into cpap. i'm a full bearded guy. i kept reading that a full face mask wouldn't work for me unless i shaved of the beard. uh, no. that wasn't going to happen.

so i tried ffm and nasal but i just couldn't seem to get my leaks under control. on top of that, i'd always assumed i was a mouth breather. out of desperation i finally tried the p10 nasal pillow mask. and wasn't having much luck with it until i saw forum member jay and his brilliant idea-

viewtopic/p1089718/viewtopic.php?f=1&t= ... s#p1086296

this is what i use now. i've modified the system somewhat. but it works very well for me. the very first night, my ahi dropped by one point. his rig has helped me to become a nose breather, which is healthier for me anyway and really helped me down the path of getting things sorted out.

the p10 IS much less intrusive and the whole shebang is part of my success story.

you might want to try it out.
Regarding the mouth breathing, I'm only going by what the info from my home sleep study said, or shall I say, what my ENT said when he prescribed me a full face mask. Truth be told, I had a hell of a time sleeping with the home sleep study getup and it took nearly a weeks time to give them the amount of sleep hours they needed. So who knows of its accuracy.

The scunci mod is intriguing. I'd do damn near anything to shed this mask for something a bit easier to deal with. Would I need a prescription to purchase a nasal mask? I never did get a copy of my prescription from my ENT, and I assume it would only be good for a full face mask purchase? I have no problems with purchasing one here from a member if necessary, when the time comes.

About CA report function, here is a link to a very helpful section of the Oscar wiki, and below that I pasted the relevant bit.

http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... Daily_Page

The event flags graph normally appears at the top of the stack. It shows each event (apnea, hypopnea, large leak etc) as a vertical bar. You can select which events to display using the event flag selector at the bottom left of the chart area. The available flags will vary depending on your machine. The graphical display of events is useful in determining whether they occurred at a particular time, in clusters or spaced through the night.

Each event type in the event flags graph will have a corresponding entry in the side bar summary area.

Thank you very much. Just what I need to better understand Oscar.

It's been a little over a week since I bumped my min pressure to 9, per palerider's recommendation. So I thought I'd post last nights Oscar. The leak rate was unusually high. I'm going to treat that as an anomaly unless it continues.

could you give us a few more nights of graphs, please? as dog slobber says, we are looking for trends.

that said, obviously your ahi has improved over the other graph you posted! if you continue in this direction you are doing well.

how did you sleep? do you feel any different now than a week ago when you said you were feeling better with the machine than without?

Here ya go, Zonker. Last night I felt great. The night before, not as great, and the AHI proved that. One night is skipped....as I was out extremely late and decided not to bother sleeping.

Aside from Thurs night, the 2nd, I've felt great waking up. No fog, no slight headache. Restful.

I agree with palerider.

Your minimum immediately jumps from 9 and rarely gets back there. Your Flow Limitation is pretty active and while it's active your pressure jumps.

A little more pressure could clean up that Flow Limitation and flatten that pressure trace.

You're close.

10 it is then. I'll go another week and post the results. Thanks again to you guys.
