Dog Slobber,

Thanks - Do you know if they accept Medicare and supplemental?
i don't think they do, but someone with knowledge about that will be along shortly.

oh, hang around a bit. lsat seems tame compared to some!

btw, if lsat or anyone else gets on your nerves, you can always put them on your foe list. almost any time they make a post after that, you won't see it. why "almost any time"? because if i quote the for(and i haven't put him on my foe list), you'll see that quote.

anyway, i've found it a much more pleasant forum since i've taken to putting people on my foe list!!
let me know and i'll tell you the steps.

Tropical Diver, Thanks for the humidification pointers. I will test/follow.

Zonker, I tried downloading. My PC virus protection will not allow. If I can somehow do it, how do I connect to the CPAP machine? But for now - With my high pressure setting at 5, the air swallowing is greatly reduced compared to when it is set between 10 and 15. I already have the EPR set at 3 which is best for me. Why am I not best off this way since my AHI is now at an average of 4? Isn't that what it is all about - Comfort and AHI below 5? Or am I missing something. I am not a computer savvy person. Thanks, Jack
Your ahi of 4 means that your sleep was disturbed 32 times during an 8 hour night. That may be okay for doctors, but it is not quality sleep. If your events happen to be long and/or in clusters, you could be having some serious dips in your oxygen saturation. Most people feel much better below 2.

Swallowing of air happens often when people start out. But with some improvements in settings, the right mask, etc; that usually goes away. We can help you with that.

For actually solving the sleep apnea, you need to be able to look at the data. It may take some time to get the settings where the need to be, but it can be done. And it may not need to go as high as 15. But clearly 5 is not enough. It is also possible that you are gasping for air and sucking it in because most people feel like they are suffocating at 4 or 5. So, you could be swallowing air because the pressure is too low.

If you will get the software and post some graphs of a typical night, we can help you find the right settings for YOU.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Thanks Zonker and Zoocrewphoto. My worst air swallowing was when I was set in the 10 - 13 range. 15 was a real mess. I was at 10 to 12 on and off for years and my swallowing varied. At 5 the swallowing air improved greatly. And my AHI averaged 4. I bumped it up to 6 a few days ago and that caused a lot more swallowing / gas. So I lowered it to 5.4 for 2 nights and AHI was 1.9 and 2.2. The last 2 nights I set it at 5.6 - more swallowing / gas and AHI at 3.0 and 3.1. So I plan to leave at 5.6 for another night or 2. Then if not bad go up to 5.8. I think..........
