Cars are made from 10,000 over parts, can you imagine getting them all to work to spec, together. Lucky most consumers can't tell the difference. Jim

I wouldn't do without my XPAP for two months, just because I was too lazy to press a button. If auto start/stop is so important , why did they waste all that big money installing a button! I'd like to see that "New Unit", I'll bet it's a reset/refurb. the warranty is only to the end of the original warranty.
I used my Z2 Auto travel unit while Resmed sorted things out.
That does not excuse how long it took to get the new unit, but yes it's a new unit, not a refurb.
Even with auto on and off shut off, my original unit was having issues.
Oh.... I have 2 years from yesterday on the warranty on the new unit.

What sensor?
Just wondering.
JPB
There are only two sensors in the unit, one's a pressure sensor near the outlet into the humidifier, and the other is a flow sensor, tracking the airflow through the unit.
Fun fact there are 3 sensors in the unit..... The 2 you mentioned and a light sensor.
Thank you for this bit of irrelevance.

and by "thank you" I mean
You seem to put a great deal in being accurate based on your posts and thought you would like to know that you were mistaken is all.

The DME should have supplied you with a loaner while your machine was being fixed. My first machine would not transmit data through the phone modem. I took it in to the DME to have it checked and they handed me a new machine right there. That machine quit after six months while we were out of town. As soon as I got back home, I called the DME and they said to bring it in and they would check it out for me. They handed me refurbished machine with zero hours on it right there on the spot.

Talking about bad cars, I had a pick up several years ago that had the front end go bad on it while under warranty. I took it to the dealer, and they scheduled a date to fix it (their mechanic that did front end work was off work a that time). After being rescheduled twice, I told the service manager that I was through messing with them. I said I was going home to call Ford and tell them that I had a pick up still under warranty that was unsafe to drive, and the dealer was refusing to fix it. By the time I got home, my phone was ringing. The dealer asked me if it would be acceptable to have another place fix it. I told them sure, as long as they were paying for it and would guaranty they work would meet factory specs. I took the truck back to the dealer, and it was ready the next day. Never had a problem with the front end again as long as I owned the thing. I used for many years and had 165000 miles on it when I gave it to a neighbor to use as a farm truck (it was starting to have quite a bit of body rust). He used it for as long s I lived there, and the last I heard of it, his son was driving it back and forth to high school.

A rational person would understand that someone discussing a sensor fault that resulted in the machine shutting off unexpectedly, and not shutting off when expected, would be talking about one of the two *airflow* sensors, not the light sensor, OR the humidistat sensor (which you failed to mention in your unnecessary attempt at pedantry.)

Someone who just wants to dig at someone else, however, now they'd pop in with something about an entirely unrelated light sensor.

Regardless, just to make you happy... (or frustrate you, as appropriate,) I'll go back and edit the original post to be more accurate.
