New User (Oscar Data now attached)
Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
It is very possible I was awake at that time yeah, I usually do have a period in the early am where I wake and cant get back to sleep for 20-30 minutes.
Is this something to be concerned about or just look for it happening again??
Other than that the events look pretty great other than those 2 clusters which look scary and honestly kind of freaked me out.
Can do on the snore graph I will minimize it.

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
Awake irregular breathing can sometimes cause the machine to flag stuff that isn't real. If you are awake then whatever gets flagged means nothing other than your sleep quality was poor.
When you have time you might watch the videos here
http://freecpapadvice.com/sleepyhead-free-software
as they will explain how to zoom in on the flow rate and help you determine awake vs asleep flagged events.
It's a bit of a learning curve figuring it all out but sometimes the awake breathing is so blatantly irregular that it's an easy thing to spot.
Even if that ugliness was real...random weird things can happen and we don't worry about it unless it becomes a habit.
I once had 17 centrals in 17 minutes and the flow rate sure looked like CSR but it never happened again and I have no history of any sort of the problems that CSR usually has associated with it.
And sometimes people get real CSR and there's nothing wrong with their heart. It's called "idiopathic" centrals with CSR because there is no known reason.
For some reason your breathing became unstable if you were asleep...crap happens...but unless you see a lot of this sort of thing I wouldn't worry about it.
And of course if you weren't even asleep...for sure it doesn't matter. Anything flagged when we are awake or half awake...doesn't count.

Perfect thank you I will check out the videos.
I’m also leaning towards half awake because the leak rate was virtually non existent and I know the only time I get leak rate is when I’m asleep and my mouth comes open. When I’m awake it’s always closes and 100% breathing through nose.

Here is the zoomed in view of those events as well as the start of the event. I've looked at the pictures of the Cheynes and it looks eerily similar. Going over the last weeks sleep results this event also occurred last friday and looked exactly the same.
Further thoughts???
Is there way to tell which side you were sleeping on when events occurred?
I'm sitting down to watch those videos now but just wanted to post these first if they are now more easy to tell what was going on.

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
It looks eerily similar to me as well and pretty much as I expected it to look with all those centrals.
3:50 at the start of it all looks like an arousal breath and then things go to hell. While I don't see the need to panic...I don't want to poo poo this off and tell you it means nothing.
I really think that you should be having a chat with your doctor. Not so much because I think you have some sort of hidden heart issues causing all this but because it's so prolonged and you have had it before and while it may not mean anything...I really think that is for your doctor to decide since he knows all your history.

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
I wish it was that simple Pugsy!
The wait to see the respirologist is close to a year and I havent even received an appointment date so I'm kind of needing to find out and do all the legwork I can so when I go in there I have some idea of what to bring up and to show. ( Universal healthcare is good for some but terrible for others) IE Canada
I don't think my family doctor would really have anything he could/would do with the information other than to send it off as well.
On the good side I did have an echocardiogram done the other week and was told no cause to worry there. Also I have been tested for quite a few things and my doctor said I had amazing results as far as blood and pee so I have been at a loss for last 2 years about why I was feeling more and more tired.
On a positive note I did feel pretty good today and have been feeling better for the most part I just hope that the CPAP is actually making a difference and it all isn't just in my head.
I am going to give it a few weeks and just monitor the sleep data and hopefully its just my body adapting to CPAP.

Not without a camera.
Get OSCAR

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
Okay....how about either reducing EPR or turning it off?
Think you can handle it? It might be something that could be done that would reduce the centrals....it's a maybe but worth trying.
I forgot you were in Canada...I understand about the delays.
Let's see if we can maybe get lucky and stumble onto something that keeps that unstable breathing to a minimum or eliminates it.

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
Sure I will maybe reduce EPR by 1 down to 2. Or go down to 1 off the bat? ( This seemed to help with the aerophagia but I think Aerophagia is the lesser of the 2 evils if the other one equates to one month left to live lol!)
Should I leave the pressure at 6.6?? Should I maybe go back down to 5 or 5.5??
It doesnt seem like I need that much pressure but I'm no expert at reading the results.
Edit: Forgot the science rule ! Ill reduce EPR tonight.Leave pressure as is.

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
So had my best score yet hovering right around the 1 AHI mark but had a few large leaks.(No aerophagia)
Running pressure 6.6-20 with EPR of 1.
Question is should I dial down pressure slowly by .2 a night til I get to a point where leaks aren't an issue or just leave settings as is since I had such a good score and let the body adapt and hopefully mouth open leaks go away? Is there a way to tell from the data where leak is actually coming from? Im just assuming mouth because I had a decent seal on mask and did have little bit of a dry mouth.
I should also say that I feel pretty great today.
(Edit: Also going over last few days data it looks like I'm only getting pressure increases when I experience leaks at the beginning of night and during leaks FWIW. )

Re: New User (Oscar Data now attached)
You're confusing cause and effect. Leaks *never EVER* cause pressure to increase. In fact, if leaks are bad enough, the machine will *reduce* pressure in an effort to get the mask to seal.
As pressure goes up, the mask vents more air, and is more prone to leaks as a result of the higher pressure.
Things that actually do cause pressure to go up: Apneas, Hypopneas, Snores and Flow Limitations.
