Military Going Keto?

“One of the effects of truly being in ketosis is that it changes the way your body handles oxygen deprivation, so you can actually stay underwater at depths for longer periods of time and not go into oxygen seizures,”

Stupid, sounds like a poor recruiting plan, In 1965, my Army never had Beer or Pizza in their meal plans, Jim

We never spent much time underwater, the Navy maybe after the ship sank.

Metabolic tampering seems to be a pattern with the military.
Germany fed some troops crystal meth--like candy.
British pilots were given benzedrine, and our men were supplied with coffee and chocolate;
as well as being discouraged from quitting tobacco while serving.
[[["Smoke if you have them" meant non-smokers did not get breaks.]]]

One thing about keto, it is not a cheap diet. Protein tends to be relatively expensive. This could be great if you're (Budget? What's a budget?) Airforce. Thick-sliced bacon, ribeye steak & eggs, all cooked to order for breakfast every day! But if you're Army or Marines, I can only imagine the lowest bidder delivering the most unappetizing, flavorless and weirdly textured "Protein Cubes" ever envisioned by mortal man. Served with a cup of fat and green beans boiled to mush. Navy would be a roll of the dice, varying between "OMG-Awesome!" and "I ain't eatin' that!"...

That may be a bit of hyperbole based on personal and shared anecdotal experiences but either way, it will be interesting if this is actually tried on the scale of one of the service branches.

I miss the CPAP relevance or perhaps you missed the [OT] tag in the subject? ;)

Soylent green?
Ha! Could be... Except, wasn't Soylent Green depicted as having a flavor? I would not expect the Army's new "Keto-Loaf" to be allowed a flavor.

The original keto-loaf (Spam) has flavor--[mostly salt],
but the Hawaiians made it their state meat.

Maybe the Air Force wants to make the stools softer, so they won't scratch those $ 600 toilet seats. Jim

When I pulled this up yesterday the story on the sidebar was about "Keto Crotch" which I had never heard about so I read.

Today in my inbox and all over different sites I am getting Keto Crotch pop ups.
The pictures are hilarious ....

Do y'all think Keto Crotch is a real thing?
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

It is actually quite bad with poorly controlled diabetes.
Yeast grows when body chemistry is messed up.
