You've had eight years to get a backup/spare. "Murphy's Laws" apply to these machines and in the vast majority of cases, they don't give warnings.
They're getting harder to find, but a few years ago the Pro 2s were practically everywhere and were dirt cheap (compared to any other newer machines or to their original prices). Around that time, I bought five for about $150 each and/or less and some included humidifier units w/tanks.
You might contact http://www.acbio.com and see what a new/replacement motor might cost. Might not be too expensive.
