SleepyHead / MyAir and events score difference
MyAir gives me a good score, but sleepyhead says it is not very good:
For example, Jan 7 2019
Myair gave me 5/5 for 5.1 events per hour
SleepyHead says AHI 5.2 "not very good"
I realize there may be some rounding on the AHI/Hr, but why would MyAir give me 5/5 and SleepyHead says "Not very good"
Which is "more correct", and is 5.1/5.2 a problem I should bring up with my provider?

Re: SleepyHead / MyAir and events score difference
The rounding up or down is an insignificant difference. Ignore it.
Now why MyAir is happy with AHI of 5 anything....beats me. I sure wouldn't be happy with it.
Maybe you need to be asking ResMed why they are okay with someone still having an AHI that puts them in the mild untreated category....barely but 5.0 is the cut off line for diagnosis.
There's more to this therapy than AHI though..
what kind of events you are having is critical to know along with did you actually sleep decently or not.

i'm no expert, but if it were *I*, i'd stick with sleepyhead. not because i think one is better or even more accurate. my thinking is that with sleepyhead, you could post the charts here for experts(not me!) to look at and advise any changes.asegal0000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:47 pmMyAir gives me a good score, but sleepyhead says it is not very good:

you don't have to wait for a doctor to make any changes, though that's perfectly fine if you prefer it that way. but things can be improved much more quickly if you do it yourself. again, your choice.
in any event, an ahi of 5, while considered "technically treated", isn't really helping you that much. while we shouldn't necessarily strive for 0, most of us want to gt as low as we can.
good luck!

Re: SleepyHead / MyAir and events score difference
5 events per hour means that in an 8 hour night, you stopped breathing 40 times....I certainly would not be happy with that..(I don't think your heart is either).

I believe MyAir will give you an "attaboy" all the way up to 6!

myair is a joke. It's for kids that can't do anything without someone praising them and giving them a gold star.asegal0000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 1:47 pmMyAir gives me a good score, but sleepyhead says it is not very good:

It gave me an attagirl with 8.2 events per hour.
Thanks to sleepyhead I know it was mostly SWJ.

Re: SleepyHead / MyAir and events score difference
Wow...still got a 4 out of 5 with AHI of 8.
Makes me wonder just how bad it has to be to really get dinged.
I know some people like and need the attagirls and attaboys but I am not one of them. I can pretty much figure out how I feel all by myself.

I have never even bothered with ResMed's MyAir or whatever they used to offer.
I did try DreamMapper briefly once just to see what it showed but when I realized that DreamMapper was phoning home without my permission and I couldn't stop it...that was when it got uninstalled and it took a bit of extra work to get it gone.
It qualified for spyware in my book. Phoning home without even asking and not easy to remove...that's spyware to me.

Oh I would love to get rid of myair (just on principal) on the other hand I am lazy and googling it and actually doing it seems like a whole lot of work considering I post my sleephead charts on here for all to see anyway

Re: SleepyHead / MyAir and events score difference
I've used my current machine for four weeks and haven't been over 0.9 one night, and I feel good during the day, so myAir works fine for me. Now if it showed a high AHI, anything over 2 for me, that's when I'd look at SH to see what was going on. And, as for spying, I couldn't care less. Course, if they find something juicy, I sure wish they would tell me.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:23 pm...considering I post my sleephead charts on here for all to see anyway![]()

"myair" is just an app/webpage you use to look at the data... there's nothing to get rid of.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 08, 2019 7:23 pmOh I would love to get rid of myair (just on principal) on the other hand I am lazy and googling it and actually doing it seems like a whole lot of work considering I post my sleephead charts on here for all to see anyway![]()

Its sending my reports to my doctor, to my dme and to the insurance company. I don't care for that.

DreamMapper was a software program on my computer that I installed.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:55 amIts sending my reports to my doctor, to my dme and to the insurance company. I don't care for that.
MyAir is nothing more than a webpage service...so it's not on your computer to remove it.
There is a way of opting out of the service and not have the machine send the information to the DME or doctor.
Simple thing you can do...go to airplane mode...but then you get the nag screen to get out of...which takes a millisecond.
In airplane mode the machine can't transmit anything to the MyAir web page.
The other way of opting out will require you to officially opt out and tell them you no longer wish to participate and you don't want ANYONE accessing your data...and you can do that...there's a little thing called HIPPA regulations that let you choose who gets your data. They will squawk about it and tell you they are "only trying to help you" but you know it's BS.
I am unsure as to all that is involved with going this way since I have never done it...I just know that you always have the option of restricting who gets your data.
Easiest way though...and I would do it just out of principle just so I could irritate them....airplane mode and I would just count the nag screen millisecond to get out of as a cost of sticking it to them and smile every time I did it.

No, myair is just an app.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 6:55 amIts sending my reports to my doctor, to my dme and to the insurance company. I don't care for that.
Your machine sends data to resmed, the dme, maybe the doctor can use a different app to look at your data, the dme sends compliance verification to your insurance, because that's all the insurance gives a shit about, "is patient using the machine"... Not when, or if it works.
