EPR helped me get started--but I was on a single-pressure machine,
and had been over-titrated by at least 3 cm.
After I got an S9 autoset, and was trying a Sleepweaver mask,
I was advised to try shutting EPR off to improve stability.
I have never missed it

Thanks ChunkyFrog! My titration found I needed to be at 13. After a horrible month of CPAP and not finding the right mask, I purchased a APAP and set it 11-17.I found I was spending quite a bit of time at 14.6. I started making progress when I increased my minimum to 13.8. I have the maximum at 17. I had energy and much more emotionally stable.

My sleep NP then put the minimum at 12 with and EPR of 2. I have been declining physically and mentally since. Her reason for the change was to see if I would be more comfortable and possibly sleep more hours. It has done the opposite. The only thing I can think of is the fluctuations disrupt my sleep.

I hope this ship turns around quickly. I was starting to love life again. I can see why so many people fail at therapy.

It's not the fluctuations that are disturbing your sleep, it's the fact that the NP set the pressure too low, and you're having more breathing events that are disturbing your sleep.

Set the pressure back to where you had it, and tell the NP to quit screwing things up.

They TELL you thet NP means "nurse practitioner".
What it really means is "not perfect".
Feel free to set your own pressures, and tell others to . . . whatever.

I went from painting my fireplace, kitchen cabinets, going out with friends, pretty much doing life. Was I back to me yet, not quite, but was seeing that light at the end of a very long tunnel. It took me over a week to figure out why I am blubbering on my couch and a doctor insisting I need antidepressants. I just think I need others to leave my settings along. It took me 3 months to get them there and starting to feel like a human again (no offense to frogs...I like them too) and in a matter of seconds it was all undone.

My AHI's are still low, but something isn't working because I feel like crud! I am not letting anyone else screw it up. I was working to get that pressure line fairly flat based on your advice. It seems to have been working. Thanks PaleRider!

EPR
I didn't like EPR from the start. Give me one steady pressure on each breath instead of the machine cycling up and down on each breath.
Are you on a CPAP or an APAP with a very small range?

There's more to bad sleep than just AHI. AHI is Apneas and Hypopneas... there's also snoring and flow limitations, both of which aren't counted in AHI, and both of which disturb sleep... (and that's just the respiratory end of things that may disrupt sleep.)

My sleep still wasn't great, but I feel like s%$# even if I am not aware of waking up. I am guessing my already fragile sleep is being further compromised.

Have you set your pressures back to what was working?

Most definitely!!! 13.8 min and no EPR. I hope it turns back around quickly!
