Tired and not as fresh as I was a few days ago
Hello guys!
I have found this site as the inspiration for me to give in and start receiving treatment! I thank you all for your stories and helpful information.
Here is the issue I am having right now- I started my treatment a week and a half ago on Sunday. The first night was terrible but then by day 3 it was a night and day difference. I had a lot more energy and almost no brain fog. I was a believer. Now for the past 3 days the positive effects seem to be dwindling. Today I am run down and tired. Some of the brain fog has returned. I also have been waking up several times a night again. My AHI is staying stable at about 1.6 so I am at a loss. I am not sure if this is pertinent but I am using the Dreamwear nasal pillows mask as the regular one is a joke and leaks all over the place.
I have seen others say the same thing about reversal so am I just over reacting and should just stop complaining and wait it out?
Thanks!

I don't have an answer for you but I am in the same situation. I started on 7/10/18 and felt great that first week or so. Then these last few days, I'm back to not being able to wake up in the morning and then feeling tired during the day. My numbers still look good, averaging around 2.1 with minimal leaks.

Get the software and let's see if anything stands out on the reports.

We all have good and bad runs, it's called life. With Sleep Apnea, you have been abusing your body for years, overnite isn't going to fix it. Also even when and if it does, we keep getting older and more breakdown occurs, people fail to realize, The Beat Goes On!

It might be that your settings are on the edge of where they need to be. So some mornings you feel great and others, not so much. The average, however, should be better than it was before. You need to ascertain that your settings are optimal for you. That can be determined pretty well in an overnight titration test in a sleep lab, but it's not infallible.
I'm not familiar with your machine, but if it is a fully data capable machine, you should be able to get help here if you post your Sleepyhead data.

Great. I'm not familiar with Sleepyhead, but it seems to be the standard software on this forum; I use ResScan. But posting your data will allow a bunch of folks here to weigh in.

In my opinion, your pressures are way too low.
I (and many others) couldn't breathe with those pressures. Keep bumping them up and keep monitoring your reports. The minimum pressure is very important if you're using a pressure range.
If that report is typical, it appears you're getting a reasonable amount of sleep. Many of us, when we started, had a period of time when we got too little sleep time (trying to be compliant) as we tried to get used to this new way of sleeping.......and gradually increased it.

These results are similar day to day. I honestly thought the same thing about the pressures, but it doesn't seem to go up beyond 11 so I figured the pressure was fine. I don't pull the mask off and I have not had any symptoms of mouth leakage either. Occasionally I get a small leak but nothing that appears in the graphs at all, and I simply adjust the pillows.

Your machine is very slow to respond, so getting the min pressure right is important. Yours is likely low.CreativeChris wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 1:18 pmThese results are similar day to day. Also, please redo your charts in accordance to the guidelines in my sig, but your machine doesn't do the flow limitations graph.

Re: Tired and not as fresh as I was a few days ago
The primary things that initiate pressure increases are Flow Limitations and Snores. But, if a person doesn't have many of them, the pressure may not rise to where it needs to be to fend off the other events.......Hypopneas and Apneas.CreativeChris wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 1:18 pmThese results are similar day to day. If there are no other/further precursor events, the pressures will drop back down to where they started and then the pressure fluctuations start all over again.......and maybe never getting to where they need to be.
For some, using Philips/Respironics Autos, those pressure spikes/probes may be disturbing to sound sleep.
In my own case, trying to use a range of pressures is a disaster. I don't have enough of the precursor events to increase the pressures and then they don't rise high enough or fast enough to do any good........and the pressure increases wreck my sleep. For the last several months, I've had a problem that sprung up rather suddenly (probably caused by some medications I took/used) and sent my numbers higher than they'd ever been during my therapy. So, I pulled out a couple of my APAPs and tried various configurations.......and again found that they were ineffective.......my AHIs were in the TEENS to TWENTIES and the APAP was basically worthless in its response. After about a month, the effects seemed to have worn off, but I verified what I had experienced in years past. For my sleep/breathing, an APAP in ranges of pressures is worthless.

Yes, much better, thanks. The data on the left is often very useful.CreativeChris wrote: ↑Wed Jul 25, 2018 6:31 pmThanks everyone for your input. I am including a new screenshot as per your request. Let me know if this gives you any more insight!
I'd suggest bumping the min pressure up to 8, maybe 9, we'll just have to see what it takes to stabilize your airway.

Why the wake ups?
I see at least 3 where you turned the machine off and back on again....why?
Were there more wake ups? If so, how many.
Is this common for there to be this many wake ups or even more?
Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?

Re: Tired and not as fresh as I was a few days ago
I have been waking up a few times a night. I go to the bathroom even though it is not that bad. I only take a beta blocker in the morning and nothing else. I don't even drink anything with caffeine past 9 am. I do take a lot of vitamins but all of the energizing ones are in the am such as B complex, Co Q10, etc. I turn off the machine so it doesn't blow while I have the mask off. Most of the times that I remember I wake up because I gasp.
