My life Mask

Post by tomjax » Tue Jan 23, 2007 7:01 pm

I stopped in a DME yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised to meet a very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We hear too often about the evil ones.

Anyway, I tried on a new mask they said had just come out from Respironics.
I may just try one when I get an order.
It is the My Life Series Not sure if this has been mentioned.

I believe you're talking about the OptiLife Mask.

For all of you who have wondered why Canada got Opus before the US did, take heart!!! You folks got Optilife before Canada did. I spoke with the Respironics rep. today and he thinks we won't get Optilife until sometime next month.

Buy a new hat, drink a good wine, treat yourself, and someone you love, to a new bauble, live while you are alive... you never know when the mid-town bus is going to have your name written across its front bumper!

I guess I was pating attention to MY LIFE and did not realize it was OPTILIFE that has been discussed.

Maybe my add or lysdexia is acting up again and I am not paying attention.

If I can get one with BC/BS or medicare, then maybe I will get one to try after all these years with Breeze.
I really like the breeze because it is so easy to take off and on during the night and doesnot have those straps.

Will try to put aside my bias and give it a try. tomjax

Hmmmm...might have to pick up one of these little beauties one of these days. Sheesh, I'm starting to get as excited with new mask designs as I do with the latest electronic gadgetry. Now if somebody comes up with a mask that has a built-in high-def TV viewer, then they'll really have something.

THat one looks uncomfortable. Tomjax, I was curious to know whether you'd had problems with nasal sores using your breeze? It's such a comfortable mask that I hate to give up on it b/c of the sores. If you have wondering how you dealt with it? Thanks.

But only if we can put our glasses on over the mask.

OptiLife

Post by JPO » Wed Jan 24, 2007 8:41 pm

I dropped by my medical supplier today to talk about my Swift. I've had it for a week and it's comfortable and I wear it all night but I wake up a lot. It seems like the noise may be causing constant disturbances. The tech went in to consult with the owner and he came out and gave me an OptiLife to try out - it just came in and I was the second person to have one. It really surprised and pleased me. I'll let you know how it works out.

I looked at the picture and the thing that comes to my mind is how do I get my mouth tape up under there?

Before ordering this mask on-line, check out other vendors prices. For example, talkaboutsleep.com is selling the optilife mask for $109.00, compared to cpap.com's $129.99 price.

If you plan on ordering from cpap.com (I know, based on their past service, I certainly will), you should know that cpap.com will match competitor's prices.

I ordered this mask and it's on it's way right now. (I did see the lower price and requested a price match...and of course, they credited me with the difference!)

I am anxious to get it. My current one keeps slipping and I can't sleep on my side at all because it dislodges. I like the fact that this one looks like it won't wander. The other kept waking me up with leaks.

I'll let you know how it works out.
