Apria, Lincare, or Rotech?

Post by Michelesleeps » Thu Jan 04, 2018 1:33 pm

My insurance covers Apria, Lincare, or Rotech. Any opinions on these companies?

Location can vary a lot.
Even Apria, which is almost universally despised,
has some decent locations. (apparently)
Check your local Angie's list for reviews on your nearest locations.

Try calling all three and see what kind of service/responses you get. I did that when I started, called Lincare and Apria- I could never get Apria to return my numerous calls. Lincare worked out OK, but that is mostly because my local Lincare office had a very helpful resp. therapist.

Do some reading and make up your own mind. I never have nor never would use any of them.
My business has gone to CPAP.COM from the beginning of my therapy.

Yep, varies by location. Apria generally has a lot of incompetence, some of which has been fixed or Medicare was going to drop them. Lincare suffers mostly from a high turnover - some locations are EXCELLENT. Others suck. Some start off one way and two years are the other. I know nothing of the 3rd place you listed.

Rotech is well known in central Florida (it is headquartered in Orlando) and has a long history of poor performance in many respects. Please refer to https://www.bbb.org/central-florida/bus ... complaints
for some illustrative stories. While BBB gives them an A+ rating, it eludes me why. You will note that out of 56 user reviews, 2 are positive, 1 neutral, and 53 negative - not stellar performance. There are 216 complaints on file - many of them have detailed stories that, taken as a whole, indicate an organization that succeeds through building hurdles and bureaucratic pitfalls rather than an easy path for customers.
