Yes.. no big deal. You should stop reading on the internet and diagnosing yourself. I just use an eye gel at night when it crops up. I get it more when we have windy weather and I have been outside too much. I just "gel" up for a few nights and I am good. The one I use is called genteal gel, you just put a small amount in the corner of your eyes and hop off to bed. Like I said, no big deal.

For those who have been officially diagnosed with dry eye syndrome, as I have, it's not always as simple as just putting in a few eye drops or using eye gel. Might be for some people, but not me. And it can be a very big deal. It can cause extremely dry, itchy, and painful eyes, blurry vision, etc. I was using drops and gels more times a day (and at night) than I can count. It helped, but certainly didn't help enough. I was diagnosed by an ophthalmologist many years ago who inserted a punctal plug in the bottom duct of each eye. The helped tremendously. I only have to use drops now certain times of the year and not nearly to the extent that I did before.

For trying OTC drops and gels, do not get the ones that say they "get the red out," because they can cause more problems. As others have mentioned, Systane is a good one. Thera Tears is another one to check out, as is GenTeal.

AMESS, you would need to be diagnosed by an eye doc who is aware of this and the treatments for it. If you already have been diagnosed, then I would ask him or her about punctal plugs. I hope the eye drops/gel help you, but if they don't, or they don't help enough, then an eye doctor appointment might be the next step.

Dry eye can be a royal pain, but can often be treated with OTC remedies (see your eye doc first.)
Systane is expensive, but the wally world equate knock-off works fine for much less cash.
Sometimes my ophthalmologist gives me free samples of the brand name stuff.
I get results from artificial tears, very reasonably priced at Big Lots.
