People that say this over & over are the ones who have already had more than one Spam Button removed and have a bucket full of usernames to cause confusion.
I have my spam button; it's never been taken away. I think there are more of us who still have their spam buttons than you think.

It's obvious to everyone that guest posts aren't the only issue here. But it sure adds fuel to the fire.

Call me naive but can someone, anyone, link me to a problem guest post? Please?

Totally agree, Lucyhere. And I have never had my spam button taken away either. I used it once a looong time ago for a legitimate spam post.

I don't think it is a question that you are naïve, rather there may be some confusion about what a "guest" post is. A member post has a post count and other profile info under the name. Guests do not. Some "guest" posts are new people who have not yet been granted membership. But many are forum member who decide to post without logging in as a member so that they can attack others incognito. This thread is full of the latter.
Are you unable to recognize who they are, or are you unsure why their posting is problematic?

So then link to a problem post that fits your description then.

Or link to one of these.

Lacking either I have to conclude this is an imagined problem.

TIA

Thank you, Guest[s] (whoever you really are) for proving my point. People do NOT listen. You're more worried about proving your point than you are to considering that maybe, just maybe, people's gripes about Guests posts have merit.

I am so glad the Goodman's decide all this stuff because IT IS THEIR SITE! As guests we should be thankful we have a place to get help and to help folks in the cpap journey.

Speaking of not listening...I am asking for someone, anyone, (it could be you) to link to an example of what you are talking about, please. Saying there is a Loch Ness monster doesn't make it so. I'm from MO, "Show Me".

We know that people who have had their Spam Buttons removed go on to create other ID's to get another Spam Button to continue the same behavior, we know that is true. Yet you want to blame it on a "Guest"? Really? This has been a circular problem which needs fixing.

AFAIK the "Guest" ID cannot delete anything including it's very own post. So you say the "Guest" ID is used to insult people? Just "Show Me" is all I am asking.

Don't attack because you can't "Show Me" an example.

So glad you brought that up, Sheriff. It has been mentioned that as soon as someone registers here they act like they own the place. Presumably that is because it is not their first log on ID, so they know the rules they accepted the user agreement (more than once) then they want to tell the Owner what to do and how to do it.

Isn't that like the inmates running the prison? Or the people who bought houses near an airport then complain about the airport.

I can. From this thread, highlighting in RED the "insulting" parts:

That is totally wrong and I will tell you why which is something you never do. You want people to believe that after someone registers they become infused with wisdom and experience and everything they say is true. You and xxyzx both prove that to be wrong and a totally bizarre logic.
And you are the king of nastiness and likely aka xxyzx using proxy connections like Cranky Granny does. It's all the regular whiners that make people not like this place.

I wouldn't doubt that you played a role in that spam attack in an effort to get Johnny to
appoint moderators.

And while you are spewing your bs do tell why JediMark kicked you off the SleepyHead Project Team. Was it for being such a nice guy? NO!! Not after he openly defended you on here and then you shafted him, how nice.

Have a pleasant evening.

You and x-man have the very same attitude. Everyone knows you lost your spam button yrs ago, so how many IDs have you created since so you can delete things you don't like?
This is but one example. I could look for more but I've got much better things to do on a Sunday morning than to chase down examples of something that everyone knows IS a problem.

Isn't that why JediMark stopped doing the Sleepyhead Project? Was it because someone was inserting spyware in it?

I have no idea about JediMark.

Your post used the word "insulting" and the post I showed has a ton of speculation that is, in fact, very insulting. You can tap dance all you want but the post was very insulting.

You said I couldn't show you an example and I did. Simple as that.

Just because you don't agree with something does not make it insulting nor does it make it wrong.

The people causing the problem are those who have been deleting things they don't agree with then creating more ID's to repeat the process. These are not guests but are the Registered Members who get infused with wisdom, anger, and an intolerance of differing opinions soon after registering.

Is that why you are not using your registered name Roberto?
