Tubing rubbing on bed frame!!!

Post by fbwebb12 » Sat Sep 16, 2017 8:31 pm

Hello! I tried to read the topics to see if someone else has asked about this, but no such luck! Basically, the tubing on my CPAP rubs on my bedframe and it wakes my hubby up! And if it doesn't wake him up, it makes me more aware of how noisy it is and then I lose sleep trying to make sure it's quieter. Honestly, if I could just sleep on my back all night, this wouldn't be an issue. But I'm a side sleeper and I switch sides three or four times a night! Any ideas, my friends?? I've heard of insulated covers that are supposed to help with condensation traveling to the nasal pillow thing, which has been a problem since it started getting colder at night. Does anyone else have these issues??

Try putting the tubing behind your head.
The whole things is a pain--but u gotta try different ways.

A hose cover could cut down on the noise from the hose hitting the bed frame. Using some sort of hose management system might help - depends on your headboard design. Cutting the toe out of a thick tube sock and sliding it over your hose is an option I once utilized. Or drape a towel over the bed frame where the hose hits. Can't offer anything more specific since bed frames come in all shapes and sizes. Just get creative. Doesn't have to be fancy.

I don't know if this will help but I use two big elastic bands. One I loop through my hose to another one which I loop over the big knob on the end of the headboard. This gives me the flexible but also stops the hose from rubbing against the top of the headboard which will keep us awake.

I stuck a big thick bathtowel over the headboard and threw the hose on top of that. Tied a string around the hose and pinned the string to the towel.

The bathtowel muffles the noise and the string and pin keep it in place.

You can do it immediately at no cost.

We live in hope . . .

said the fourth Canadian.
O soft embalmer of the still midnight,
Shutting, with careful fingers and benign,
Our gloom-pleas'd eyes, embower'd from the light,
Enshaded in forgetfulness divine

I do a kind of combo from other posts. I have a hose cover and I run the hose through a ribbon I tied in a loop hanging from the big knob on the end of my headboard. Never bother me at all. The loop is big enough for the hose to move freely and the hose cover helps when it hose someone hits up against the back of my nightstand. (My machine is in a low shelf on the other side of my nightstand. I run the hose from the machine behind the nightstand and up through that loop hanging from the headboard.)

http://www.snugglehose.com. get the one with the zipper it is MUCH easier to get on and off. Snuggle hose cover- will stop the noise when it rubs.

And Cozy HozeBoss keeps the hose in place. http://www.cozyhozeboss.com will keep the hose from moving.

Foam pipe insulation over the bed frame part that "strums" your hose.
It even comes with adhesive strips that can be stuck to the bed frame!
Keep it covered to defend against kitty claws.

Greetings,
Made a simple hose sleeve with flannel material, it made a big difference with the noise.
Good luck.

I've got a Respironics hose cover, it's fuzzy and feels nice, plus supposed to help with rainout, which I've never had
