Trollhunter, as was pointed out to me once. Picking a fight with xxyzx is like picking a fight with the "slow" kid in class. It really isn't worth it and it won't get you anywhere in the end...

============

all of my advice is good
you have never shown any of it to be wrong let alone bad or questionable

you are a useless troll with a personality problem so you attack people
when you dont have any facts

you have nothing at all to show i am a wrong about anything
all you have is your erroneous opinion about my statements
and when combined with your huge arrogance
you have to resort to insults to try to divert attention from your lack of facts

PROVE ME WRONG WITH FACTS
stop using logical fallacies and diverting from the statement i made
that came from the providers of my equipment as to the E0471 codes for both my bipap and asv
In other words "Do not confuse me with your facts, I know everything and your facts do not matter to me"
What a tool
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

Marillion,

I disagree that it is an an issue of picking a fight with the "slow" kid in class. People with all types of IQs are arrogant as heck like xxyzx and think they know everything when they don't. They are never wrong.

Thank goodness, Pugsy is generous to let Tom PM her so he can get the necessary support he needs regarding the ASV issues.

Pugsy is among the most knowledgeable folks here. She has provided me with much useful guidance over the years.
When she speaks you should listen.

I am also an ASV user and pass along tidbits of info when I can, but I learned far more here than from all the doctors, RTs, DMEs and sleep labs I have dealt with.

When things were not working well for me I tried the sleep doctors advice and things got worse fast. I tried the opposite and things got better.

I get where you are coming from. But arguing with this person is a futile effort. Facts are irrelevant. This is often a commonality of those with very low IQs and those that use the term "libtard" (the two usually go together.) But if it gives someone satisfaction to argue with this individual, more power to them.

I agree that it's wonderful Pugsy is able to help this person one on one in PMs rather than deal with all the noise here.

Not a he but a she and I am still trying to find something you said that was correct and actually useful for the OP in this thread...still looking. Pretty much everything you said was either incorrect or half right and really is/wasn't particularly helpful.

But you don't really care what I think or say do you? Since none of it is a concern to you I won't bother trying to educate you since you know it all already.

I have been using ASV for probably over 3 years now...and you...well, you don't even have your machine yet despite the doctor writing the order...what's the hold up? Oh...yeah, I think someone (was it your insurance or the DME or doctor) is telling you that you need the titration and you in your infinite wisdom don't want to do it because you don't think you need it.

A regular bipap titration (non ASV) gives a good starting point for the OSA related stuff but useless for the central stuff. The bulk of an ASV titration is devoted to the central stuff. ASV machines are not machines to set it at the defaults wide open and let the machine sort it out. Doesn't work that way contrary to what you might think.

If I spot something you said that is actually correct AND helpful to Tom in this thread...I will be sure to mention it but so far I am coming up pretty much empty.
And no...I don't have to prove a damn thing to you. You are the newcomer...you get to prove it to me and the other forum veterans...either that or STFU.

Oh for Christ's sake why don't you just grow up.

I don't have to prove anything to you and I am not going to try because I know you won't listen. Not my job to educate know it alls.

AND.....this thread was about Tom and his questions...not you .
He was wondering if anyone used one and I have and you haven't....

You are the one who brought up the codes and you got it half right and started telling him to ignore his doctor and self titrate and all that crap.

If you had left things alone and just said this...I wouldn't have said a thing but no, you had to keep adding shit in that you think know and I know it comes as a shock to you but you don't know half of what you think you know.
yes
what you like depends on you

you need to try pillows and assorted masks before you accept one

didnt they do that when they titrated your ASV ?
so you know what mask would work best for you
-------------------------
Oh...and I am a bully because I dare to question you....well I have been called worse by better than you and I sure won't lose any sleep over it.
Get over yourself. I repeat....I am the veteran here...you are the newcomer...I don't have to prove anything to you and I won't even try because I simply don't want to. You aren't worth my time.
When you are incorrect or give half assed half correct information I (and all the other forum members) will call you out on it. If you don't like it...you get to prove it to us...not the other way around. It's one of the perks of being here longer. Don't like it...tough shit.

If you wish to talk about your ASV or OSA stuff....start a new thread of your own and quit throwing your shit in everyone else's thread muddying up things.
What's going on with you is really irrelevant (and news flash...other people could care less because they want to fix their problems not hear about yours) and unhelpful.

My apologies to Tom for derailing your thread. It just happens here from time to time.
I am done beating that dead horse though and please do register so that we can PM if you wish. Plus you might want some input about the data your machine will give you and you need to be able to insert images if you want to share what you see.

Here's some software information.
https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment

and some examples of what you can see
viewtopic/t103468/Need-help-with-screen-shots.html

and here's an example of one of my night's on my S9 Adapt (ASV). There's a lot more available than just this but this is the basics and about all I can get in one image.

If your ASV machine is made by ResMed, then Pugsy is a great resource for help with the parameters.
If it is a Respironics machine, then I would offer additional help via PM should you need it.
If you have the starting parameters from the BiPap titration, that is a good starting point as well. Other parameters need to be considered that don't exist (or not in the same form) on bi-level machines.
Starting out on some sort of nasal mask is best. It is also worthwhile to consider using a soft cervical collar to help prevent mouth leaks that come with facial muscle relaxation with sleep.

Best of luck on your journey.
