CPAPtalk.com Product Trial System Enrollment Now Open
Greetings CPAPtalkers,
If you would like to become part of a pool of patients which CPAP manufacturers can call on to trial products they are developing, you can enroll here:
cpaptalk-trial-questionaire.php
We view this as an "everybody wins" situation:
Patients can try new products early and have a voice in their development and quality.
CPAPtalk can introduce manufacturers to a new kind of patient, profit by administering the program and develop a better CPAPtalk.
Manufacturers who need a large group of "super patients" to provide good feedback can have access to them.
Here are some ground rules:
1. You are allowing CPAPtalk to release the information you give when you enroll to CPAP manufacturers who request it. Typically, people are very protective of this, if you feel uncomfortable please don't enroll. Also, we will always opt you out on request.
2. You can be involved in only one trial at a time and will have to sign an NDA with the manufacturer conducting the trial. This means absolutely no posts/PMs/etc on CPAPtalk about the new products. We will police this as the big boys spend millions on their products and we take their trust in our word and the word of our users very seriously.
3. CPAPtalk will profit from this if it is successful and you will be supporting CPAPtalk by enrolling. If you are uncomfortable with this, please don't enroll.
4. Manufacturers are allowed to use your information for conducting their trial only. No after marketing is allowed. If they don't agree to this, they can't pick from our pool of enrolled trial participants. When I asked for cpaptalk opinion earlier, many made it clear that this is very important. I've taken a hard line to ensure that this wish is honored.
I think this will make CPAPtalk stronger and the CPAP industry better. I hope you agree and enroll!
Johnny

Johhny,
Are you accepting o'seas applicants (if testing US originating equip is involved, I can arrange for shipping at my cost to Sydney Australia - I have US & local power capability).
If you are willing to accept o'seas applicants, you may need to alter the application form to handle o'seas addresses
Cheers

(PS I promise not to dissasemble/dismember/rebuild any test machines )

Johnny, mega thanks for an outstanding idea and program!!
Oh, the last 2 boxes didn't have any dropdown menus for me to select from. It could be our firewall, though.

Application issues
On DOB 02 was listed as March and 03 as march.
2006 was missing on the year of start of therapy, I started in 2006.
No pulldowns showed up for me either. I can refill it out if required after issues are address, or I can respond to an e-mail. Whichever is fine by me.
the only other thing I could think of was if the person responding is considering upgrading to an APAP or better device in the future.
Thank You for the great forum

Greetings,
Yikes! Sorry about all the bugs! Theo is monitoring this thread and will be fixing them and updating everyone on the status.
This is currently open to people living in America only. Baby steps...
Javascript has to be enabled for the "all machines and all masks" questions. They are more interested in learning the recent stuff listed in the drop downs and so we have created it that way. If you have used an S6, you get no credit - but I think that's ok.

Johhny,
I just want to say what a brilliant set of moves you have enacted recently. Speaking for myself, they remove all the concerns I believe anyone might raise re who is who and who trials what for what reason.
You have elevated a great cpap site to a new level of integrity.
Congratulations & my personal thanks.

Registration/Log In Problems !!!!
Well, JohnnyGoodMan, I'd be interested in volunteering for these Product Trials IF you can get my User ID, Registration problems straighteend out. I misspelled my UserID when I registered. Didn't notice it until I couldn't log in and went back and checked my Welcome e-mail message from cpaptalk. (Oct 11th). I e-mailed the big Question Mark at the top of the Index page and requested help in changing my User ID from the misspelled Frustsrated to Slinky. I got notice cpaptalk had received my Question (Oct 28). Nothing further from cpaptalk - except now I can't register under any other ID because they're from the same e-mail address. Yet cpaptalk won't recognize my trying to log in as Frustsrated either. It just keeps bouncing me back to the Log In page. H-E-L-P! I'm beginning to feel unloved and unwanted!!!
Thanks, Theo. But that didn't work either. I even tried again lying and saying I forgot my password. I got the following message:
The e-mail address you supplied does not match the one listed for that username.
I tried again and made sure to double check the spelling in my e-mail addy.
I give up. Should I fry or bake the worms I'm gonna go eat?
Gads, it wouldn't even accept this message as Frustrated. Sniffle.
Sorry, but this username has already been taken.
