I read the following review of the M auto software. Since the installation may be too difficult for me, has someone on this forum posted better installation instructions than what is supplied with the software? The Encore Pro post does not seem to cover version 1.6i. I am trying to decide whether to purchase the "M" series auto. Thanks for all the helpful info on this site.

"I found Encore Pro difficult to install (I have Windows 98), and it did not come with very good installation instructions. It allowed me to install the main program in one drive, and the data folder in another drive. But it did not work well with this configuration. I had to figure out how to uninstall, in order to reinstall everything in one drive (C drive only--did not work well in other drives). To uninstall it, everything had to be done in the exact order, or it would not uninstall correctly, and then could not be reinstalled. First, the device driver for the Smart Card reader had to be uninstalled and removed (Had to go into control panel to remove the device driver). Then the SQL database files had to be uninstalled (don't uninstall Encore Pro first, because SQL won't uninstall without Encore Pro in the system). Finally, Encore Pro was uninstalled. I installed/uninstalled Encore Pro and its accessories about 10 times before I got everything right. The documentation is lousy on how to do this, and of course, Respironic does not provide technical support to end users. I feel lucky I have been able to make this program work for me. But now that I have, I find the program very helpful at enabling me to self-titrate, trouble-shoot leaks, etc."

Windows XP, works better than Bill Gates worn out versions. the newest software version isn't too bad. You have to pay attention to how you do things.

Nothing is Fool Proof to a deturmined Fool!

AND, To push a rope uphill soak it in water and freeze it, where there's a will there's a way! Jim
