DreamMapper

Post by RestedRebel » Sat Mar 04, 2017 7:20 pm

I tried to register my machine on the dreammapper app, and it keeps telling me my serial number is wrong, but it can't be. The serial number begins with SN, and the app keep telling me that the serial number should begin with a P or a J. This is driving me nuts. Has anyone else had this problem?

What should I do?

The best thing would be to give up on Dreammapper and get familiar with the free Sleepyhead software which allows you to view all the data from your machine depending on what data your machine keeps track of. Sleepyhead will let you view all the same data that the doctor sees. It allows you to take full control of your own therapy if you choose. In the least it will help you to have a two sided conversation with the doctor. It will give you a lot more confidence and better understanding of your therapy. It's very highly recommend by most people on the forum.

Take a look at Pugsy's Pointers in the sticky threads. The very first thing that is mentioned is Sleepyhead. It's the foundation that enables great things to happen here on the forum and at home. There's no doubt that it's a powerful tool that helps to save lives.

Nope, the serial number begins with a J.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words on these things, see http://imgur.com/a/BeysE where I have a picture of my serial number, and the bottom picture has a red rectangle as to where it is in the context of the whole unit. This is on a Dreamstation.

Wait a sec - your equipment profile shows you have a ResMed machine. Dreammapper only works for Respironics units. ResMed has a similar thing called MyAir, but I've obviously never used it. The advice of the other poster to get familiar with Sleepyhead is good, from personal experience I can tell you that Dreammapper is a joke.

I think what you need, is to register with the my Air website. It is for the Resmed machine you possess. I think Dream Mapper works only for Phillips Respironics machines

Looking at your SN. The SN you are entering stands for serial number., therefore J is the first character of your SN.

the serial number doesn't begin with SN.... that's short for "Serial Number".

DreamMapper is for Respironics machines.
Did you just get a brand new Resmed AirSense 10 machine? If that is correct DreamMapper won't work with the ResMed machine period...doesn't matter about the serial number.

I do believe that ResMed machine serial numbers do start with SN. Edit to add...with SN in a little box in front of some numbers usually beginning with 22 or 23 but the actual SN you would input in the website wouldn't include the SN which isn't actually part of the serial number.

If you want to use the online app viewing thing with your new AirSense machine then that would be ResMed's MyAir. There is a link at the website for the app if someone wants to use their phone.
https://myair.resmed.com/Default.aspx?redirectCountry=2
It's pretty lame though...essentially the same exact data you can see on the machine's LCD screen.
You do need to make a little change in the clinical setup menu to see that data on the LCD screen though.
Essentials needs to be changed from usage to "Plus". It's a setting in the clinical menu and easily changed.
See the manual..it explains things along with how to get to that clinical menu setup area if you don't already know how.
https://sleep.tnet.com/home/files/resme ... -guide.pdf

These online app things only show limited data...okay if you aren't having any problems and just want a quick look but if you want to know anything in detail you need to use the software available.
Either ResMed's ResScan or SleepyHead (or both if you wish).

Yeah but there is SN in a little box just in front of those starting numbers to help you spot it.
My new used AirCurve 10 ST SN 22151964851

indeed, but like the 'REF' in the next box, that's just the label identifying the number.... not part of it.

that distinction is important when trying to sign up for something that knows your SN is "22151964851" not "SN22151964851"

not that it matters much if one is trying to sign up for the wrong service.

Here's mine as shown in Dream Mapper. Nobody else looks at your account so I think the only reason they want it is to give you help and ads based on your machine.
If this doesn't match your serial number format, you might try entering this number like this, and change a digit or two near the end (just in case I'm wrong) to see if you can get in.

Primary Device P101755794E22 REMstarPro (System One 60 Series)
I use SleepyHead too, but I like looking at Dream Mapper, it's fast and web-based so I can check it from anywhere. Not real useful as a diagnostic of course, but it does indicate compliance and AHI problems.

She has a ResMed AirSense machine.. Doesn't matter what her SN is or how it is put in..DreamMapper won't work with a ResMed machine.

Thank you, but it's not going to work because I have a different machine. Not sure why the tech told me to log in to Dream Mapper without knowing which machine I had. Perhaps he didn't know that I needed a certain machine. As I said before, he just picked this one up at a trade show and I snapped it up right away. His concern was that I maximize my therapy and make sure I am using the mask correctly.

I'll just use the sleepyhead. I couldn't use it with my other machine, so I will have fun playing around with it and my new machine.

well, your first mistake was listening to a 'tech'.
