All new toys!!!! and now need help

Post by idahogal » Sun Jul 23, 2006 11:20 am

Ok, I got all of my new equipment yesterday! I ended up with exactly what I wanted. I got a new Remstar Pro M series ( I am thrilled to finally have smartcard capabilities), all new hoses and I am trying an Oracle mask (I know I know). I have to admit it was nice not to have to use the polident strips last night but I really need to get the nose leaks under control. I ended up switching back to my Aura at about 4am due to the leaks but I am going to get some plugs today. The plugs that are supplied with the mask are a waste of time. I am still waiting for a smart card reader to come in but I had some not so great results this morning. If someone could help explain what these exactly mean that would be great.

Usage 7 day average :30 I know I used the machine for more than half an hour so I am confused by this number

0 sessions

system leak (7day) 50.5

AHI 6.1

I am hoping that these numbers change once I get the nose leaks stopped.

yep, your leaks are skewing your data. 50.5 is 50.5 Litres per minute "average" for a 7-day period, actual leak can be much higher/longer.

I've read where plugging your nose for the Oracle can be more difficult than sealing your mouth with tape etc.

Be careful you don't want to end up like Michael Jackson nose.

Yeah, Michael Jackson nose would not be good. Thank you for helping me interpret some of this data. I am sure it will be easier once I get my software and reader.
