I was only referring to his query about extra oxygen.... No need to be so snappy!

I think you are wrong. So I will answer your question that way...for the same reasons I stated above.ezybreathykiwi wrote:I work at altitude, so spend significant part of life at lower oxygen levels. But I do believe that CPAP pressure will increase oxygen absorption in lungs over normal air pressure, so can imitate minimal supplemental oxygen.
Am I wrong?
Unless there is something going on with the lungs themselves the cpap machine isn't going to increase the O2 levels while awake and if something is going on with the lungs then that's a lung issue not related to sleep apnea and cpap machines can't fix issues that aren't related to sleep apnea.
They aren't ventilators (at least the regular cpap machines) and even at max pressure they don't "blow up the l lungs" to cause increased oxygenation...they can't even blow up a balloon.
Now if you feel like it helps for some reason...the mind is a powerful thing and it hurts nothing to use the cpap while awake if you think it makes you feel better.

Hepatitis B is easily diagnosed through a blood test, is very serious, and is also contagious.jaw wrote:Once again, a big thank.Pugsy wrote:I must have missed the mention of Hepatitis B being a consideration. I am sure you probably already know that fatigue and weakness is a common symptom.
No, my doctors have never told me this. They said I could continue living they way I had been living, I could consume beer moderately and I could smoke moderately (this doctor meant smoking is bad for me in the same way as with any other non-Hepatitis-B person).
I've just googled, and yes fatigue is mentioned here http://www.hepatitiscentral.com/news/four_ways_to_be/, although the Internet might says that there are no symptoms of Hepatitis-B http://www.webmd.com/hepatitis/hepb-gui ... b-symptoms.
Blood work will include testing for the specific Hepatitis B antigen and also checking your liver enzymes.
If you do have Hepatitis B you want to know if it is chronic or active and if treatments are available.
If you have Hepatitis B you liver is already compromised so you should not be drinking alcohol or taking "unnecessary" medication that is detoxified in your liver.
Severe fatigue can definitely be a symptom.

Hi all,
I remember that my doctors did confirm that I have chronic Hepatitis B, but that should not give me any symptoms. No treatment plan is needed, although a half-year check is necessary to see how it develops. They think that I might have had Hepatitis B since birth.

There is a higher incidence of Hepatitis B in Asia so very possibly you have had it since birth, nonetheless, follow up as the doctors suggest and start reading about chronic Hepatitis B and how to take care of yourself.jaw wrote:Hi all,

You are correct about Asia, but I think it's not so straightforward to say Hepatitis B caused my fucking tired brain.Sonnyboy wrote:There is a higher incidence of Hepatitis B in Asia so very possibly you have had it since birth, nonetheless, follow up as the doctors suggest and start reading about chronic Hepatitis B and how to take care of yourself.jaw wrote:Hi all,

This https://www.merckmanuals.com/home/liver ... -hepatitis says the most severe symptoms of Hepatitis B is fatigue. That I think I don't have much.
Actually I am still doing well in my Karate club, only that my brain is fucking me everyday.

Very possibly you do have another problem causing your brain issue and I encourage you to continue your investigation, however, you know you have chronic Hepatitis B and you do want to take of yourself.jaw wrote:You are correct about Asia, but I think it's not so straightforward to say Hepatitis B caused my fucking tired brain.Sonnyboy wrote:There is a higher incidence of Hepatitis B in Asia so very possibly you have had it since birth, nonetheless, follow up as the doctors suggest and start reading about chronic Hepatitis B and how to take care of yourself.jaw wrote:Hi all,

Here is a link to help you get started including a quote regarding alcohol, smoking, over the counter medication, and diet:

What advice do you have for those living with chronic hepatitis B?
We strongly recommend avoiding alcohol, as it can be extremely harmful to a liver already infected with the hepatitis B virus. Additionally, you should avoid smoking for the same reason. You should be sure to talk to your doctor before taking any prescription, over the counter medication, or herbal remedies.
Although there is no special diet for people who have chronic hepatitis B, a healthy, well-balanced diet that is low-fat and includes plenty of vegetables is recommended. You may want to avoid eating raw shellfish, since they can contain bacteria that are harmful to your liver.

Thanks for the info regarding Hepatitis B, i'll study it.
For my tired brain, I do this whenever there's not enough blood streamed to that brain, the immediate result is awesome, but can only last for around 2 hours.

Two things come to mind and you decide if either fits for you.
One is--take a good look at your avatar. The man at the desk has lousy posture. Your video points out the importance of posture to breathing when it discusses the circle of breath. What is your posture like when you are sitting at your desk on the computer and are you remembering to breathe and breathe correctly when you are not wearing the Cpap. Just a thought. Maybe you like the Cpap at work because it actually is reminding you to breathe. Instead of wearing the Cpap at your desk try sitting with correct posture and remembering to breathe. Might help.
The other has already been mentioned I believe. You indicate your "brain" is having the problem many times. Consider talking to a neurologist about these issues.
Re: 100% compliant to CPAP, still tired, can I do something ?
I've booked an appointment with my family doctor. Doctors here in Holland are fucking slow: waiting list is often at least 2 week to reach a family doctor, and at least another month to reach a neurologist.

Yes, but ... what are you doing about the hepatitis?
Re: 100% compliant to CPAP, still tired, can I do something ?
I''ve phoned another doctor at the hospital having the treatment, another story of waiting until they would give me another appointment, only then there could be another blood test and talk.Julie wrote:Yes, but ... what are you doing about the hepatitis?
Holland is slow in health care.

The Netherlands is no different than what I often experience here [California, USA]. I made a first time appointment with a neurologist last week, the first available date was mid August, and I took it. Sometimes first time appointments with any of the specialists are harder to schedule because more time is required.
Re: 100% compliant to CPAP, still tired, can I do something ?
It still feels as if you're hoping a 'Cpap' fix will change everything, but if hepatitis IS the problem, Cpap may help, but not fix it, and the sooner you know the result of the lab, the sooner you can intelligently address things. I'm sure no one wants to have hepatitis or have to deal with it, but at least knowing the bottom line can free you to know where to go ahead, and if you don't have it, then you can start crossing off cpap answers one by one properly, addressing features one by one for a short time til something makes sense.
