It's about time you got this crap out of your heads, and got on with your lives. Take a laxative, move on! Your Cures are more of the problem than your preceived problem.
That is a great example, Jim. Laughter is the best medicine.

I agree Jim. Most of these ideas are absolutely stupid. You are right...all these pictures are additional costs to cpaptalk. The people proposing all this don't care...they just enjoy seeing their avatar ....I wonder if some are selfies?

how so? the pics aren't stored, or served from the cpaptalk server.

now, yes, the avatars are served from there.

That's a great piece of meat to throw on the grill for a nice Friday night, Granny

We all saw your answer to the original first question as an unequivocal "Yes" (great pic, btw!); can you answer 'yes' or 'no' to question # 2 in the original post please?

Hey Goofproof- what about you? You're an oldtimer here! I'd like your answers to both questions also

Let's repeat those questions,
1. Do you agree to the use of 'crickets' as a means to signal a member that they may be offending to someone else? YES or NO

2. Are you a forum member that wants to work with other members to find solutions to keep cpaptalk.com functioning without conflict? YES or NO
My answers:

#1 - Hell no, I don't agree.

#2 - Hell no, a forum without conflict is a dead forum.

Gramps has been reading this forum for years and he told me there was conflict in the very earliest days (2004 maybe?). Even in my relatively short time here, conflict, snarkyness and flame wars have come and gone. And the forum continues to thrive.

This forum will continue to function even if everyone who has posted in this thread drops out. (Personally, I hope no one drops out unless they have better things to do.)

Thanks for your clarification, Granny. I suppose there potentially is a high risk for conflict when any group of strangers come together from all over the world, and from many different backgrounds, and especially when those group members are not having to communicate face-to-face. Yet again, we all can make a choice in how we behave towards others at any given time.

I had forgot the question also.

#1. It's Stupid, as are most of the comments on this subject.

#2. It's not our place to police this forum, we don't own it or run it. It seems we have a lot of stupid going on here. There's a war going on between the people with common sense, and the PC's. One group is outnumbered, the other is more vocal, kind of like the problem that is ruining our country, it won't be solved here.

If we could just learn to ignore things we don't like to hear, we would all be better off, but instead we all think our opinion matters, it doesn't, what we do in life is what matters. We aren't going to change, the only change would be to shut the forum down, we don't have a say in that, we don't pay the bills. Thank goodness Mr. Goodman, doesn't over think the operation, personally if my dog was in the fight, I'd react! Hat's off to you. Jim

Hey, Hey Jim - I have a serious question. What are PC's?

Pinko Commies?

Pulmonary Congestion?

Pre-Pubescent Conservatives?

Hi PR,

Yes, I am because the idea of using any icon/ symbol/messaging to notify someone can be used in either situation as what myself or Janknitz suggested.

(You can also go back a page or two and read my response to Jan, if you'd like )

That would be a good question to ask next, although a lot of members have already answered it

All good lables, but my version is Politically Correct, which in reality means incorrect. (Socialests and Liberals, that were taught by the Masters of Higher Edcutation, how to best bring down the U.S.A) JIM

well, best of luck with it, for now, I'm going with this method:

just not seeing those that contribute no helpful information, (and no dangerous bad advice) just strife.

it makes for much calmer reading
