If you hadn't noticed in my profile......I own FOUR of them. And, the "wonderful" thing about them is that they can be set to CPAP (single pressure) mode......which is what works best for me......and MANY others on the forum. Not Fade wrote:That's it.palerider wrote:Den's incredible bias *against* modern machines and algorithms

i'll turn it up to 12 tonight. should i go higher? says over the last week my avg pressure is 13.5cm. for a week or so i was consistently under 1.0, well under it actually. but the last week it's been in the low 1.0's to 1.8. i wish this wasn't so complicated!ChicagoGranny wrote:If those were my stats, I would bump the minimum to 12.0. You are spending very little time below 12 anyway.jt1 wrote:should i bump my minimum to try and reduce the snores or am i just being greedy and my results ok?
The machine takes some time to respond to problems in the airway. If your min is 12, it will take less time to get to where it needs to be when your pressure requirements increase.
I love to see 1.0 or lower, and I sleep a little later and feel better at that level. 2.0 is acceptable. 3.0 and above and I don't feel so peppy.jt1 wrote:what is most people who are optimized with there treatment seeing for a ahi?

get his data, zoom in, look at the wave forms, see where they're disturbed, are they disturbed by the flow limitations are are they disturbed by the pressure going up and the flow limitations easing?Wulfman... wrote:I don't think some of you even understand or comprehend how this therapy can affect "SLEEP".
Or, the concept that it's the Flow Limitations jacking up the pressures......and THAT may actually be what "disturbs" sleep.
If Flow Limitations were that "serious", then there would be NO straight pressure machines and ALL machines would try to go to astronomical pressures trying to squash them.
quit your biased guessing.

What we do is right click on the image and open it in another window. That way it shows it all. You can also study this link and use a large thumbnail that it describes but you have to sign up for imgur to get to that menu. https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgurjt1 wrote:and on a side note, what am i doing wrong uploading my images? i see it is cutting off the the end of the night. does it need resized or something?

you still haven't gotten rid of the useless ahi graph, and gotten the six things that are useful on there.jt1 wrote:here is last night's results with stuff rearranged to include snores. should i bump my minimum to try and reduce the snores or am i just being greedy and my results ok? im still learning, and i have a lot to learn! my prescription called for a 9.0cm and that wasn't working. changing to apap and bumping the minimum 3.0cm helped a lot. what is most people who are optimized with there treatment seeing for a ahi?
mine's normally under 1, often under .5 anything under 2 I consider pretty good.

The entire image can be seen if we right click the mouse cursor over the image and choose "view image".jt1 wrote:and on a side note, what am i doing wrong uploading my images? i see it is cutting off the the end of the night. does it need resized or something?
When you are at imgur.com and viewing your image can you also see this box?

To get images from not being so big (and cut off like yours) we have to click on the "large thumbnail" words below all the addresses...then copy the last line in that box of addresses and use it in the body of the text.
Then your image will be whole and if we need to enlarge it we can click on it to enlarge it but often the large thumbnail shows well enough that we don't have to.
If you aren't seeing the box above then I think that you are not logged in at imgur.com.
This thread has a few examples

you're doing ok uploading the images, it's better to have the side cut off because people can right click on it, and view image, and see the full size image, easy to see what's happening.jt1 wrote:and on a side note, what am i doing wrong uploading my images? i see it is cutting off the the end of the night. does it need resized or something?
if you want to get tricky with it, there's ways you can fiddle with the links that imgur gives you. let me know if you want that info.

you own four several generation old machines, and the only thing you like about the apap setting is that you can turn it off.

it's really not that complicated... it seems so when you're just getting into it... but after a while, it'll be old hatjt1 wrote: i wish this wasn't so complicated!

Ohhh, don't get discouraged. You are rounding third and the ball is still in the outfield!jt1 wrote:i'll turn it up to 12 tonight. should i go higher? says over the last week my avg pressure is 13.5cm. for a week or so i was consistently under 1.0, well under it actually. but the last week it's been in the low 1.0's to 1.8. i wish this wasn't so complicated!
Slow down. Let's see how 12 works tonight. If no unwanted side effects arise, let's leave it at 12 for a few nights before considering any more moves.jt1 wrote:i'll turn it up to 12 tonight. should i go higher?

just those six graphs, nothing else unless requested. those six take care of what people need to offer advice 99% of the time.
alternatively, you could zip up your sd card and upload it to dropbox, and then share the download link, then people could download the data, zoom waaaaay in, and look at the actual breath traces, and see where, or even if, your sleep is being disturbed... and possibly by what

Re: late night apneas and events in rem stage
Good point. Gramps and I both thought our Respironics A-Flex machines were very good. Then we upgraded to ResMed S9s. We both think there was an order of magnitude difference in the quality of the therapy we got with the S9s.palerider wrote:you own four several generation old machines
This is nonsense to claim manufacturers aren't learning and improving their technology. It's a competitive market. They have to improve.
