Well..."all the data" is unfortunately hours of use with the model 260.
DMEs often only worry about "hours of use" because that is what is needed so they get paid.
They don't have to prove that the therapy is even working...only that the machine is being use the required number of hours.
If they won't swap with you sometimes the docs will help by re-writing the RX and make sure to state "efficacy data" or a specific model (assuming the original RX didn't make that clear).
You can also sometimes have Plan B available...find out which DMEs in your area have a contract with your insurance company and call them up and find out what they will dispense...find one that will provide a full efficacy data machine and then when you go to your current DME and if they refuse to swap just tell them "okay, I found someone who will provide a full efficacy data machine so you can just have this one back and I will do business with them". Sometimes they will back peddle and agree to give you what you want....if not, take your business elsewhere.
