I tried to get up three times and collapsed each time and the my wife said "Richard keep your ass on the floor". Ambulance ride and then my journey began. At one point before they found it I was in horrible shape and my wife thought I was going to die, I told her later I wasn't ready to go. I'm sorry for hijacking this thread so I'll back out.
No don't! This is the best part of the thread.

Agreed. You didn't "hijack" anything and if you hadn't posted, we wouldn't have known of your ordeal. I am glad you shared with us and this thread is as good as any.

Squid, glad to hear you are on the mend, keep pulling that shell until you can shed your temporary shell. Jim

Wow, we are a pretty tight knit group here, but it sure is easy to overlook someone not being around. Sorry we didn't notice, and we're all so glad for your recovery, no matter how slow. Those infections can get out of hand in a hurry. Keep us posted.

I think the most emotional part was when they took my catheter out, it had been in for almost four weeks and they said I had 7 hours to pee and if I didn't they would teach me how to catheterize myself so that would probably be for life. I called and they got me on the toilet after about five hours, 10 minutes went by and nothing then all of a sudden it began to flow and I thought it would never stop and I leaned back and started crying and I let the tears flow just as they are now as I type this, I new then that I wouldn't have to catheterize myself for life. I get very emotional when I talk or type about this but this is a battle that I will win.

What we think as small things, can be much bigger than we consider, until we have to. Luckily most of us don't think on how bad things can go. We blindly live out our lives in bliss, until someone near to you is dealt trouble close to home, then we notice how fragile life as we know it is.

We complain about out lot in life, but even then it pays to reflect on how good we have it, others out there are in worse shape than we are. Jim

Squid, I can hear your emotion in your post and my heart breaks for what you have endured. As someone else said, it DOES put things into perspective - or it should for all of us.

I believe you WILL win this battle and any others that you face. Please know we are here for you and rooting for a FULL recovery.

Please let us know how you're doing, k?

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Squid,

I'm new to the board, but that doesn't make me any less happy that you're OK! Wishing you a very speedy recovery. Take good care.

Would like to thank everyone for your kind words and thoughts, this is family and I love everyone of you. Had a hard day at therapy this afternoon, I get both 1 hour of Occupational and Physical therapy back to back and they work you real hard so when I'm done I'm very tired, and as my Aussie therapist says I get home and have a lay down, in fact I feel one coming on now.Thank You everyone.
