Let's hope. He seemed quite a troll, though not a particularly literate one.

I can't wait until cheap Chinese made knockoffs come out. meanwhile, I have my eyes on DevilBiss, which seem much better value for money , even before this 40% muggs 'tax'. sometimes I think I will necome a CPAP O2 addict, ready for a lifetime of being exploited. just have to hope that competition wins the day.

The day has been here a long time Respironics Masks come from there, but you don't see any benefit in cost savings, just more profit for the home office. Jim

At some point in the technology, it peaks, competition enters, and prices go down. Industry control steps in and keeps the prices artificially high to maintain a bloated distribution structure. All this is maintained by the medical profession and the DME control structure.

Since the advent of the auto machine, I really can't understand why insurance companies allow prices to stay artificially high, other than that they are being pressured by the industry to do so. I completely agree that people need an initial sleep study and a follow up to make sure that therapy is working. After that, education and the auto nature of the machine should continue the therapy just fine, provided that the patient has enough training to look at the data and compare those numbers to a chart.
