Maybe in the time left in office, we could come up with a "Affordable Postal Delivery Act", we could have all our packages shipped to Mexico. They then could be given to illegal aliens which could then sneak into the U.S, and deliver them. Jim

Interesting article I found. Even though it's about events in 2013, there's a very recent comment post (top of the comments list).

I wonder whether the OP, in his damning of cpap.com, was actually calling and emailing the POST ORIFICE, and expecting any kind of useful response out of them.

and while you may talk about being from the short bus, you know your truck is just as big as most everybody else's...

look how far you've come!

No when I was emailing calling.... It was to cpap.com and it was to find out why it was shipped to a different state/locate the package/why it was taking so long to be sent to the post office/express my concern that the last few times I had purchased something from them it took forever to reach me and that this was not a previous problem...EVER. And now it seemed to be the norm!

A couple years ago, my sister worked for the post office for about 4 months. Not in the same area, but it was brutal. Newbies get the least wanted routes, tons of walking, different routes each day, 6 days a week, and always late. The boss would be hard on her for being late, despite the fact that she had to learn 7 or 8 routes in her first 2 weeks. She was skipping her lunch time to try and get done on time. She asked for 5 days instead of 6. Nope. They moved her to a new post office with different routes, a little better. By summer, she was exhausted. Still working 6 days. She finally collapsed on the route, dehydrated on a really hot day. They refused to give fewer hours. It was 6 days, constant overtime, or nothing. She had to quit.

I totally understand everyone has off days. But come on last few times I have ordered? I used to praise them all the time for lightning fast shipping. My wife was amazed at how fast it would arrive. I ordered a mask part Feb 10th at 4am when I awoke to it being broken.... here it is the 12th @ 6pm and tracking still shows it in a Houston Tx post office near Stratford from where the warehouse is..... Makes no sense with it being 3 hours away.
OMG you are sooking about a package thats only been in the system for one day???! You would be a nervous wreck if you lived in Australia. There is a minimum 3 working days from when they lodge it at post office. Couriers aren't much better. Oh and if you ordered something from Western Australia and want it on the East Coast, you are lucky if you get it within a week (the joke is it's sent by camel across the Nullabour desert).

I'm confuzzled...wouldn't it be easier to just take the scenic route home from work and pick up the part at cpap.com HQ if you're only 3 hours away?

Howdy All,

We have switched to a more US Mail focused approach due to recent policy changes by Fedex and UPS which you can read more about here:

http://www.transportationinsight.com/bl ... sure-cost/

If you have a preferred carrier, you can call into CPAP.com and ask that your account be marked as having a carrier preference. Once marked, we'll always ship your qualifying free ground packages via the carrier of your choice.

As always, we ship same day for orders placed before 4 PM CST. No changes there and we've actually made major upgrades and have more in the works. However, once we hand it off, we're at the mercy of the carrier we've handed it to.

I'm worried that we are being penny wise and pound foolish with our US Mail switch and am looking at it more closely.

Thanks for your business and sorry for the delivery troubles.

Johnny

I prefer FedEx, because they are more consistent with recording their tracking.
USPS seems to treat the idea of tracking as a kind of joke.
FedEx has always been around a day or so quicker to my address.
(((Probably because the USPS insists on an additional 120 mile detour through the Omaha post office.)))

But Chunky, there's a Costco and a bar/grill in Omaha. Almost on TOP of each other. So they can stop, hit Costco for new "stuff", grab a steak for lunch, then...well...LAUNCH.

Jim, are any of the horses they've been trying to water lately DEAD? That could be part of the problem.

That is what I thought and chose Fed Ex over USPS because the rates were the same. But it seemed to take longer than usual although that could simply be a cause of my being impatient.

When I have ordered from something from one vendor in the nearby state, things always seem to arrive quickly through USPS. Last week, I ordered something on a Saturday and it arrived on Monday. Shipping was free.

None of what I said proves anything about shipping one way or another.
