And, in the meantime, if you have some Krazy Glue, you may be able to glue the broken parts back together. I used it on my Ultra Mirage Full Face forehead support......and it lasted a couple of years before I finally broke down and bought a replacement support.

Julie,

I'm a little confused. I saw his/her first post referencing Respironics and then your post referencing ResMed.

I was just using his/her first quote as a reference. My apologies to you if I misread something.

Den - don't apologize - I had just finished cleaning up behind my cat's XL, X heavy box and discovered a long time mess which I had to clean out and re fix (involving silver plumbing tape, Gorilla tape, plastic sheets, wet smelly litter, no room to manoeuver and a lot of language you don't want to hear! I thought she'd said Rmed, but hadn't... so sorry from this end!

Have a nice day.

For goodness sakes... wouldn't it be better to give a person a chance before saying something like that? It's not your business (or mine) to ask why she doesn't have insurance! It's polite to give someone the benefit of the doubt before suggesting they are looking for "freebie" stuff!

I have a Mirage Liberty mask size large that I used for my sleep study and maybe 1 or 2 nights, 3.5 year ago.
If you are interested I will send it to you for $25 including shipping.

You can see it here:

Can you use a nasal pillow mask? I just checked my supplies and have a Swift FX for Her with a medium pillow I can send you. You can google it to check it out. If you are interested, PM me.

How do you know that this poster is actually a FEMALE? The username they chose is "elvis6925", the facebook contacts were both female, but the full face masks they were asking for were medium or large.......which, between those sizes and username variation would indicate someone of the MALE gender to me. And, that's another reason for me to be suspicious when they haven't indicated their gender. Like I said, I call em like I see em. I was actually trying to drag some information out of this mystery poster to be able to actually HELP them. Buying replacement parts for masks or even fixing them is actually pretty inexpensive compared to buying a complete mask.

I have no idea nor do I care if this person is female or male. If the OP is as desperate as he/she says, why wouldn't a male try the female version of a mask? In this particular mask, there really is no difference except pillow size.

I have a Quattro Air in size medium you can have. It's new and still in the package.
Just send me a private message with your name and address.
This mask
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/quattr ... esmed.html

The Swift FX for Her nasal pillow mask that was mentioned...men can wear it too. The back strap is pink/gray and about an inch or inch and a half shorter than the regular Swift FX in navy blue. Most men could still wear that strap unless their heads were extra large.
The silicone frame and nasal pillows work with either "for Her" or "Regular" head gears.

Den...Obamacare doesn't fix insurance needs for everyone and Medicaid doesn't take everyone...I have a family member who has fallen through those cracks. Long story that I don't want to go into here...but can't afford to buy...doesn't/can't get any subsidies and Medicaid said tough shit we won't cover you.

I have some "stupid relative" stories of my own......regarding how they choose to prioritize their spending.
And, there have been times when we didn't have insurance coverage......had to pay for things out-of-pocket.
Maybe that's I view things the way I do and be as resourceful as I can be......when I can be.

That included the births of both of my children. It so happened that both times I was in the process of changing jobs and they were considered "pre-existing conditions" and weren't covered. Fortunately, those occurred quite a few (many) years ago when hospitalization and doctor's costs weren't nearly as ridiculous as they are now.
