Low AHI, still snoreing

Post by kona0197 » Sat Apr 26, 2014 2:23 pm

So my AHI has been around 3 or less. I use the Airfit P10 mask, or sometimes one of my two backup masks, the Swit FX or F&P Eson. In Sleepyhead it says my VSnore is 25 or more every night. So what can I do? I still can't get used to using a chinstrap or full face mask.

I'm having the same problem... FF mask because I'm a mouth breather, consistently low AHI, last night it was .75.. I'll be watching this thread along with you for ideas...

Now using AirFit F10 mask; Quattro Air is backup mask. RemZzzz mask liners with both.

If your snoring then your airway is not all the way open. It is flapping that is the reason for the noise.

If you up the pressure abit that should fix your snore issue.

Pressure starts at 9, goes to 13. I will try 14 tonight to see if the VSnore comes down a bit. At least my AHI is under control.

Unless it is topping out at 13, it is unlikely to go higher. It sounds like you need to raise the minimum a little so that it prevents the snores.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

The 9 is the number that is too low..

Looking at SleepHead I spend all night at setting 13. I just start at 9. I'm at nine for less than half a hour.

Sounds like both numbers need to go up then. No point starting at 9 if it needs to be at 13 or higher all night. Maybe give 12-15 a try and see how it goes.

OK I adjusted the minimum to 9.5 and set the maximum to 14. I will report back tomorrow with the results. By the way, how does the Airfit P10 blow out the CO2? I don't feel any air coming off of it when in use.

Well no change in my VSnore numbers. They are still around 25.00. Upping the pressure had no effect.

This was after a change from 9 to 13 pressure to 9 to 14 pressure.

Raising my minimum pressure to 10 didn't help at all. Same results. I fail to see how raising the minimum pressure helps when the graphs show i am at maximum pressure all night and still snoring at that level.

Try doing both. Your last post stated that you raised the max but not the min. If the min is too low, the machine can't prevent stuff, only respond to it. There is no reason to have the min 4 cm below the pressure you are spending most of the night at.

It may or may not need to go to 14 or 15. But it definitely needs to start higher than 9.
