water reservoir

Post by Pattipayroll » Sun Mar 30, 2014 12:15 pm

For the past week, the water reservoir on my machine has not needed filling on every other night. One morning the reservoir is almost dry and the next morning it is almost full. Con some one explain why this happens? The room temperature has been consistent.

Thanks

Your numbers.

If you have apap you might have averaged 15 one night and 10 the next.

Higher numbers use more water (for me).

If you fill in your equipment profile that would help us help you. Also let us know where you live. The answer in New orleans might be different than Tucson.

What machine and humidifier are you using?
The newer machines will see water consumption vary a lot sometimes because sensors are used to help regulate humidity.

Things that affect water consumption...
Ambient room humidity...has it been raining a lot where you live? If your humidifier setting is rather low and the air in your house already has some moisture in it then maybe the machine simply doesn't need to add much more moisture to the air.
Leaks...big leaks will use up more water
Pressure...higher pressure needs will use more water

I prefer humidifier set to maximum humidity levels...when it rains outside and I sleep with the windows open...it barely uses any water at all but if the windows are shut and/or the humidity is on the low side of where it normally is...I will use almost all the water in the tank in one night and not change any setting.
