Sleep Apnea is it the leading cause of failure to read Posts
It seems the posts are all repeats of question answered on the first three pages of the forum, over and over, it must be caused by Sleep Apnea. Maybe the answers are expected to change, though they in reality don't.
A lot of info can be had by reading the posts that are already answered. Also by reading the material links at the top of the forum. Jim

Yep, but when I first came here before I got my cpap NOTHING MADE SENSE until about 3 weeks after I started when all the new terms suddenly started to become clear.Goofproof wrote:It seems the posts are all repeats of question answered on the first three pages of the forum, over and over, it must be caused by Sleep Apnea. Then I asked what "compliance" was because it sounded like everyone was part of a really weird AA meeting!

I agree with BS, and if you dared to ask them to cut back on all the acronyms you get told off!BlackSpinner wrote:

The word tritration has never been mentioned by anyone at the sleep clinics I attend, they are always referred to as sleep studies. So not everyone knows the lingo

The world is full of libraries but people thrive on personal contacts . They learn more one on one , thankfully this forum has kind patient members who freely give their time and energy. I have learned more here on xpap than I ever could from DME's, doctor's,etc.
MD's don't want to talk about it,and dme's are a sorry lot.
Thanks to all the people who share online and risk being criticized for their posts . We need you !
Yes, us fuzzy headed people need help.

I think it is we are a little groggy and searching does not seem to really answer OUR PERSONAL QUESTIONS...
At lease that is my excuse....
BUT IN my case sleep apneas does lead me to reading posts and why I posted here...

Searching for things is a crapshoot at best and often even when you find what you're looking for it is either old information and possibly not applicable anymore (how will you know if you don't ask?) or there is a particular aspect within the question you're asking that the thread doesn't address.
I don't know how stuff is handled where other people are, but when I was given my prescription I was handed a bunch of pamphlets, given a voucher for breakfast at the hospital cafeteria (which didn't open until 7am and I was given my marching orders at 6am), and that was that. There was literally nobody to ask about any of this stuff. Even a GP pointed me at this forum in preference to answering my questions.
It's pretty bloody ridiculous if you ask me. In fact, my sleep doctor who I have to check in with every few months actually told me off for buying a nasal pillow mask. He said that at my pressure (20cm) I need a FFM. I said, "Thanks for the info, you could've told that six months ago BEFORE I SPENT THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ON THE BLOODY MASK!"
So, yeah, gotta learn this stuff somewhere and starting new threads is the best way to do it.

As an old guy I tried to pronunce the word(titration) to my md's nice/ pretty nurse and after she turned red it was explained to me that it was not TIT -tray- shon but try- tray -shon . Where upon my color turning red was observed to the girls laughter.mgaggie wrote:BlackSpinner wrote:

No complaints here. Gives us a chance to get to know a little more about our new members. Plus, I find many threads jut get bogged down and lengthy. This could make it hard for someone (especially sleep-deprived) trying to read through and find the answers useful to them.
