Re: Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help
When I had orthodontia, my overbite was "corrected" by pushing my upper teeth backwards, rather than fixing my slightly undersized lower jaw.
Due to the position of my jaw, I have yet to see a full face mask (except for P-R Comfortgel) able to seal at both my chin and nose simultaneously.
Even the hybrids (both brands) would not make solid contact on my chin, even the one with a chin cup.
Of course, if my overbite had been solved by moving my jaw forward, not only would most full face masks actually fit me,
I probably would not need CPAP at all! My point is 3D fitting! Eyeglasses are sold online, with 3D imaging used to confirm fit.
I can imagine a very lucrative opportunity to use this technology to reduce time and expense off getting every patient into the RIGHT mask.

Really, I'd love to know how many Quattro users have to see the Chiropractor at least twice a monthenghelp wrote:What FF mask is he using currently? Quatto is typically seen as the best mask on the market for full face. I also went to sleep show recently where I ran into a lady from PAD A CHEEK who has a very interesting product called a Anti-Leak Strap. I don't know anyone that has tried it personally but the testimonials on the website seem convincing.Stormynights wrote:My husband is using a FF mask now and can't find one that fits his face. They seem to fit then when he moves in his sleep they shift and he gets leaks.
OK, I know this is probably just our summer semester statistics schmoozer, but in case the OP is legit, here's what I'd like to see:
- Universal Headgear & clips between the same manufacturer's products
- Hose swivels that actually work
- QC Protocols that force the designers to use and be compliant with their own products for 60 days before market release
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Re: Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help
I think this thread is a waste of time. The manufactures are only interested in what will sell and not how it works. I called to find out about the Quattro FX seal coming out and was told that they never had any other complaints about that except mine.

The seal coming out?
I noticed that even before I realized the silly thing wasn't made for my face shape.
Probably the quickest reject ever for me! Glad it didn't fit--piece of junk!

Yep - this was me. I rarely open my mouth and if I do it is very short-lived.enghelp wrote:Even if you open your mouth before CPAP you may not after you start using it. Getting the air you need through the nose could make your body happy and keep your mouth closed.

Re: Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help
I've been using the Quattro FX for over a year now, and the only things that seem to cause leaks for me are sweating and drooling. I reduced the temp, so now it is only the nights that I drool that I have leak issues. I can toss and turn. I can smoosh my face into the pillow. No problem. Perhaps my face is perfect for this mask. But it works great for me.

Please figure out how to stop FFM from sliding up the face, causing bad leaks.

Her idea is a good one, but I would hope that a different solution might be found, one that does not require adding another strap. To me, the fewer straps, the better.

Hi, could you see my post (Judith Murphy) on 16/6/2013 and give advice on the most popular brand of full face masks. Thanks, Judy.

Re: Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help
I'd like to see 1/2 sizes in nasal pillows, like a size between Medium and Large (for me *smile*), and in between the other "standard" sizes for others...it would make a world of difference. At the moment I'm using a Large nasal pillow, but I have to have it tighter than what I'd like for it to work all the time. On the other hand, no matter how tight or loose I have Medium, it will not be anywhere as good as the Large for me, lots of leaks. It takes a while to figure out that you're a 1/2 (or so) size, maybe you would have to charge more for those to make it worth your while, but until the self-adjusting nasal pillow is available, that would be very helpful for a lot of us.
