MyEncore - Error - Unable to access the EncorePro database.
.NET versions removed
Update: I removed .NET 1.0 and it's hotfix, rebooted, tried MyEncore, no go. Then I removed .NET 2.0 and tried again, so all I have now is 1.1 and it's hotfix... Still no go.

What is the disk size of your MyEncore installer, it should be 451 or 452 byte. the size before you install it, the file size.
Also check in add remove programs, the size there is .52 meg

MyEncore size and checksum
File: MyEncore Installer_v15b7.msi
Size: 451bytes
hash ec861ddb0f87b16db8a5316fd2dcffc7
...that's the correct one? Isn't it? (I hope!)
I think that the database is good, that is, I can connect using MSAccess/ODBC without a username and password but of course the tables are too difficult for me to figure out. But any program can connect to it w/o a password.
I did something interesting that I will document in more detail and post later. I downloaded the patient data to an XML file then used Excel to read it in. I found the exact time of my apnea events and the alarm that woke me. I was too groggy to remember the exact time but I knew it was around 5:30am. It actually isn't difficult to do...I have Office 2003...
I may, one day, (too many projects, too little time and energy), do something fancy and useful with the data, probably at least extract all the apnea events listing the exact times of each. I'll share any spreadsheet that I come up with that seems useful...
Long day, I'm gonna sleep if I try to type any more....
Thank for thinking of me goofproof. (Is that anything like "idiot proof" that my dad used to talk about whenever it involved me?)

MyEncore
You might want to try a search for the SQL server. The first time it came up I had to enable something on the popup and then open the SQL. That's when I was able to use MyEncore at last. Now my only trouble is that it only reads one week out of the reports from 2/8 to 5/24. EncorePro has all dates in the database but I can't get MyEncore to change from last seven days. Even when I go in to change the date, the data base reads 5/28 to 5/24 only. Anyone have a clue on this one?
MyEncore size and checksum
Almost forgot... The install size is only 0.47mb
Could that depend on HD bytes per cluster--I'm using NTFS 4096 (the default, I think.)
MyEncore folder has 4 files:
MyEncore.exe 252kb
ZedGraph.dll 232kb
MyEncore.ini 1kb
License.txt 3kb
Folder properties:
Size: 486 (498,590 bytes)
Size on disk: 492 (502,808 bytes)

The SQL server is up for sure. Unless you are talking about something else that I don't know about.
In the task area, next to your Windows clock, there is an icon. Open it up and it says "SQL Server Service Manager". Is that what you are talking about?
Your comment about the dates really confused me but then I'm just about to drop into sleep, I think...

Me too. Very frustrating. I even emailed Derek, offering to name the next
puppy we get after him if he come back for a few days. OK, I am kidding, but I seem to have the same exact problems EDRO has.
He is better with computers than I am...so I am offering him moral support
while he grinds away.
Meanwhile, my wonderful Auto Bipap is doing its job. I haven't had this many nights of sleep in a long, long time.
My only problem seems to be when I lay on my side. I get air leaks. I have
moved my face to the edge of the pillow...with front of face off the pillow. That may have worked...not sure...I fell asleep.
The tv show, ER had a guy on a show we taped, they said he needed a bipap
to keep him breathing. Then Miami CSI mentioned a guy getting killed had "apnea" and that if it goes untreated it can kill you. And we know Horatio wouldn' lie to us.
Now that I have one, I guess I am more aware of it and will see more references to it.
edro...let us know how you are doing with the programs...

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed

edro.......I am currently trying some things. Moogy sent me some info and
I tried it in Netscape 7.2 (won't use 8+ because they want permission to enter my computer whenever and for whatever reason they want..read the EULA) Anyway, the computer popped up and said I needed net framework version 1.1.4322 to run it. If you are interested click here....
and I did. Holy cow...MS has a huge website huh....well, I am still tracking
this down...
I am on my notebook....actually I am on 3 computers simultaneously.....
one in here...one in MS website and my laptop trying to install it. Who knows what I will get out of it. My notebook says it installed version
1.1.4322.573 When I went to the icon, I clicked on properties...it is 23.1mb
in size (24,265.736 buty in size and size on disk is 24,268,800.
The file name is dotnetfx.exe
Rats...it still doesn't work.
OK, I will reinstall Myencore. I uninstalled it. I reinstalled it. I even did
a restart.
It is through booting up...nope...didn't work.

Check the version of MyEncore that you are installing. It should be:
File: MyEncore Installer_v15b7.msi
Size: 451bytes

Goofproof says,
Mine wasn't."Also check in add remove programs, the size there is .52 meg"
I'm getting a different message now when I run MyEncore. Strange. But let's keep at it. Thanks for your work on it..and I know that you are in pain while doing it. I don't like to type but I do a lot of clicking here and there--takes my mind off my pain a little.

It's probably the correct file, and remember, " Nothing is Idiot Proof, to a determined Idiot". Jimedro wrote: Thank for thinking of me goofproof. (Is that anything like "idiot proof" that my dad used to talk about whenever it involved me?)

Someone finally understands me!!
edro....sorry about the way the posting came out...there was no url on
my post...I should have used quotation marks. I was simply echoing
what I was reading on the internet at that time.
I will try to say it again. When I used Netscape 7.2 for the link Moogy gave
me......I clicked on her link.
A pop up came up and said I needed "Net Framework version 1.1.4322 to
run this application" If I wanted to download this info, click on the link.
The pop up had a "link" on it. I clicked on it. It took me to the Microsoft
website and the download site for Net Framework Version 1.1.4322. Then I
downloaded it and a couple of other items the MS people said I needed to
run our Myencore program.
BUT none of it helped me. It still doesn't run. Part of my problem may
be that when I tried to install MS.NET FRAMEWORK SDK Setup I got a msg
saying "An error occurred while windows installer was initializing, Setup will
now close."
So I lost another battle. The good news is I didn't throw any of the computers in the pool. That is another story....
Sooooo I will have to wait until tomorrow. I will check the site, but it is after
8pm and I know enough to quit the thinking portion at this time.
Keep hacking away....I will take luck over skill any day.....you will never know how many pilots have said that....

It was fixed in the new version
If you have Encore Pro 6 you would need Myencore 1.5b7
I did spent an unfortunate amount of hours installing and reinstalling, and always getting the same results. I twas only when I got the 1.5b7 that it worked.

Which version of MyEncore
Yes, that is one of the things that I checked. But thank you for pointing it out anyway. I checked not only the version but with a little help I checked the file checksum, and I installed the correct version.
As an update, since I'm here again, I still have not been able to get it to work. I've given up, (something I loath to do). I just had bigger battles to fight in my life.
