Software? Someone let me in (noob here)
I've been on the hose for the past 5 months, am basically not feeling any improvement at all, and now I lost my job and insurance. AWESOME.
I've been reading this forum and see a lot of talk about "software." I'd like to know more about this, esp. if I can monitor more in-depth info about my treatment than "house used last night," which - I mean, duh.

Thanks a million - downloading it now! I'm really curious to dig into my data, esp. with the lack of progress I've been feeling.

Unfortunately the S9 Escape will only give you hours of use so while you can get the software, there won't be any in-depth information to analyze from the Escape. If I recall correctly from one of Pugsy's posts, the Escape doesn't even give AHI. But please, someone let me know if I'm wrong about the AHI.
Sorry -- you're positive it's the Escape?

Just read it off of the front of the machine. Why on earth wouldn't it store any information if other machines are? It's what we call a brick. It's the least expensive model in the S9 series and DME (durable medical equipment) suppliers often give it to unsuspecting new cpap patients. They make less profit if they give you a fully data-capable machine because as I understand it insurance companies pay the same amount to the DME regardless of which model cpap the DME gives you.

Awesome! Well, I guess I can't do anything until I get insurance again.
Re: Software? Someone let me in (noob here)
Well...lack of software is a bummer but it isn't the total end of the world.
Issues can be worked through but it takes more work.
Are you feeling like something is missing from your therapy? Or were you feeling that you were doing okay but just wondering about the software because you see us talk about it and are curious about your?
We can still help if you need help...just takes a little more work maybe. We are up for it if you are.
Unemployed means you most likely don't have a bucketful of dollars laying around for a full data machine even if it was slightly used. Now if by chance you do have some extra money...we could probably find you a full data machine that would work with your S9 humidifier..might take a bit of time but sometimes we can find some really good deals.

Re: Software? Someone let me in (noob here)
There are some members on here who sell used cpap machines that record full data: they may have one you can afford to purchase out of pocket...I hate for you to keep on feeling lousy. I have dealt with STL MARK before, he might can help you. I hope and pray you find another job with health insurance soon.Black Shampoo wrote:Awesome! Re: Software? Someone let me in (noob here)
Interesting. Thanks, everyone.
My main issue is that I haven't felt any improvement since I started the therapy, and I was just on the verge of doing another sleep study and some sort of "daytime wake/sleep study" (can't remember the name of this, but it involved going to the same hotel and basically attempting to go to sleep periodically during the way. I think "latency" may have been somewhere in the name) when my company went absolutely nuts and laid off half of the workforce nationwide.

Thinking way outside the box now -- I wonder if it would be possible for you to even rent an Elite for a month, monitor with software, let the folks here work with you and see if we can improve your therapy. Do you have a copy of your cpap prescription?

At what setting is your pressure? It may be too low and you might be having multiple AHI events...Black Shampoo wrote:Interesting. Thanks, everyone.
