Free Gecko nose pad!!!

Post by simplyme » Thu Feb 14, 2013 9:56 am

Attention! Look to end of thread to see if anyone else has Gecko pad they would like to give away.

Hi, I was going to delete this post after someone wanted the nose pad, but didn't realize I could not delete it after others had commented. Oops
So sorry the small Gecko nose Pad is GONE. but others may have some check the thread for current offers....
I got a ResMed Gecko nose pad size small at the advice of my DME, and tried it out, but for me and my mask... It just did not work. Since I can't take it back to the DME I feel like it is a waste to toss it...
So if anyone wants to try out a used for 10 minutes Gecko pad that has been washed up real good, I could mail it in a baggy in a regular envelope to you. Just leave a message here and I will respond to you for details... Don't Put your address in the thread unless you want lots of fan mail
Gecko might work better for someone else... First Come First serve... I'll delete this post if someone requests the pad... otherwise if you are reading this, and do not see that anyone has asked for it, it is still available.

Bump.
I had a similar one--shipped it to some else for whom it didn't work either.
Some people swear by them--I only swore AT it.

Maybe they work better if you look like this?

Hey guys, you might be one of the folks this will work for!
Most faces are not as odd as mine!

I am currently using that nose pad (although in a larger size).

It works perfectly for me - both to prevent sores on the nose AND to prevent leaks (although I really did not have any bad leaks before).

I got mine as a sample directly from ResMed in May 2011, but just took it out of the packaging a couple of weeks ago.

They are suppossed to last about a month & I am 1/2 there already.

The part that fits directly over the nose is really the only part I need.
When it gets too old to use anymore, I may cut off the 2 side flaps & try to use just the center part.

I also have some Remzzz samples to try out next.
And I may also even try a Pad-A-Cheek liner.

As best as I can determine, the Remzzz liners are the only ones that are covered by Medicare & my BCBS secondary.

Hi, Well if you would like a free gecko small to cut up after yours let me know
I'm not sure about the insurance thing, but my insurance covered the full $40 (that now after seeing how much lower the price is online I'm thinking that my DME is overcharging? ) I'm on Medicare and Medicaid due to disabilities not sur if that affects if insurance covers all or part...

Are you saying that Medicare DID pay for the Gecko pad?
Next time you talk to your DME, ask them what Code they filed it under.
And, I will bet that Medicare did NOT pay the full $40.

It seems that the Remzzz liners are paid under the same code as the Mask "Cushion" - which would literally mean you could not get another "cushion" as often since the Gecko pad purchase is treated as though you in fact got a mask "cushion".

I didn't want to take the Gecko pad & keep someone else from being able to try it out.
Also, I think a small might be too small for me.

But, if no one else wants it, I will PM you with my details.

If it really is too small to use as is, I will cut it apart to use only the center part that fits over the nose.

If someone else asks for it before you send it to me, let them have it.
