It is best that it goes to someone who can make full use of it as it is.

Thank YOU for making it available to someone who can probably benefit from its use.

And doesn't it EVER feel good to deflect a sale from the mean ole DME's?

Are you saying that Medicare DID pay for the Gecko pad?
Next time you talk to your DME, ask them what Code they filed it under.
And, I will bet that Medicare did NOT pay the full $40.

It seems that the Remzzz liners are paid under the same code as the Mask "Cushion" - which would literally mean you could not get another "cushion" as often since the Gecko pad purchase is treated as though you in fact got a mask "cushion".

I didn't want to take the Gecko pad & keep someone else from being able to try it out.
Also, I think a small might be too small for me.

But, if no one else wants it, I will PM you with my details.

If it really is too small to use as is, I will cut it apart to use only the center part that fits over the nose.

If someone else asks for it before you send it to me, let them have it.[/quote

Oh great! That is exactly what they did, when you mentioned that I remembered that one lady at the DME said she did't know if it was covered, the guy there told her "we just enter it under cushion". I didn't even realize that is what he meant! So now I'm probably out 1 real cushion and insurance is paying for a gel "pad" instead...
I do not think that is really right on the part of the DME, I understand they may have been trying to help me get the pad but still... I'd rather use the insurance for a mask...
Grrrr! Have to be more careful when getting things there.

It may not be as bad as you think.

The entire mask is usually replaceable every 6 months.

But, just the "cushions" themselves are replaceable 2 every month.

Cushions last a lot longer than 1/2 a month, so you can still get 1 more cushion for the month you bought the Gecko Pad in.

After a full month thereafter, you can go back to buying 2 "cushions" every month.
So, stock up a couple of extra cushions just in case you ever need to get another "liner" type product. This works assuming you keep the same mask you currently have.

But, it is good to know that DMEs (well, at least yours) code out the Gecko Pad (and hopefully other liners) so that they WILL be paid by Medicare & other insurances.

Note though that the cushions (at least mine) costs more than the Gecko Pad, so the DME calling it a cushion just gives them more profit - so that is probably why they are willing to do it. And some "liners" cost even less than the "cushion" - so even more profit to the DME.

If Medicare & other insurances would only cover it as a separate item, they would pay less.
