I've just received a Phillips REMstar Auto A-flex machine today. I've been using an old Resmed one for 6 years... anyway. Will the Pro 2 software work on this machines data card or do I need something else?

Depends on which Remstar Auto AFlex...most likely you got a new PR System One machine and this thread is for the old Pro 2 software and it won't work with the new machines. There are actually several versions of Pro 2 now.
If your machine is model 560 (number is on a stick on the bottom) you would need Pro 2.5 or higher or EncoreBasic.
EncoreBasic offers the exact same reports as Pro but is only 22 MB in size vs over 300 MB size for Pro and Pro is major PITA to install and use.
So I don't recommend Pro at all now. There is nothing to gain with using it.

You can find information on where to find EncoreBasic in UncleBob's signature link here
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643

If you do have the model 560 machine you can also use SleepyHead with the 60 series Patch. It let's you do a lot with it where Encore doesn't let you actually do anything with the software.
You can read about the Patch file needed to make SleepyHead work here
viewtopic/t83551/SleepyHead-Series-60-Patch-Avail.html
If the model number is 550 you won't need the Patch file.
If you wonder what Sleepyhead is...I have links in my signature to it.

Hey everyone, I joined on behalf of my mom.About a year ago she was prescribed an auto cpap respironics REMstar Auto A-Flex 8-18 cm H2O with humidification. She started using it unwillingly and then 3 month ago she abruptly stopped using it altogether citing mask discomfort.I am going to try and convince her to use it again. So with my equipment which model of Encore is compatible and where can I get it? Thanks in advance.

You have two choices in my opinion. I really don't like any of the Pro softwares past 1.8. You can Sleepyhead but if the machine is a series 60 you will have to get the patch and install it also. I know little about Sleepyhead because it won't work on my older machines. You will have to contacy Pugsy for help with Sleepyhead. Encore Basic does work fine with the older and newer machines and most computers. If you want to try it I am sending you a PM with the link to download it.

You can use SleepyHead (information in my signature line) or EncoreBasic that Jerry sent you a link for.
If your mom has a PR System One Auto AFlex machine you can use SleepyHead if you wish and it is doubtful that she would have been given a 60 series machine a year ago so there is no need to use the SleepyHead patch file for the 60 series machine. The 60 series machines weren't released until last spring.

EncoreBasic will work with the older model machines as well as the newer models.
There is no need to use EncorePro if EncoreBasic is used. Nothing is gained by trying Pro now with the new machines. Basic gives the exact same reports as Pro now and is much easier to use, smaller, and installs with fewer problems.

I'm yet another person with a PR series 60 (replacement machine for an older failed PR S1), and having trouble using SleepyHead (even patched) to read the SD card data. If I'm reading correctly, 'Encore Basic' may work for us? I got a copy of 'EncoreViewer 2' but it won't read the chip either -- a waste of time and money.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will Encore Basic 2.0 work with 64bit Windows 7? I've been using Sleepyhead and have some issues with loading multiple data sets from the same 24-hour period. I've searched for a download of the Basic 2.0 but can't find it even though I see it referenced on several of the Apnea boards. Can anyone help? Don't think I need Pro version just the Basic...
